Probably too late as brake fluid under the extreme temperature turns to tar in a transmission
Suggest that it may be possible to salvage the transmission but it will require a professional shop to do it and you will have to have it towed there
It will require a full flush with the engine running to remove the contaminated oil in the transmission, transmission cooler , lines servos and torque converter
The cost is mostly transmission fluid and will run out to be between $200 and $300 dollars
Put that against a replacement transmission $1000 dollars and it is cheap

SOURCE: 1998 V6 2.8 liter Passat w/tiptronic automatic transmission

Problem solved!!

I had a tuner go over the wiring. He found a loose ground wire and grounded it properly. The transmission has been shifting correctly ever since!!! It felt like a mechanical problem, and acted like a mechanical problem, but it was just a loose ground wire.

Let this be a heads up on VW transmissions!

Thankfully it was only a loose ground wire and not a $5,000 trany!!

SOURCE: fill transmission fluid on 19999 audi a4

LISTEN CLOSE. THERE IS A PLUG ON PAN. REMOVE IT. WITH A SYRINGE TYPE CANISTER YOU NEED TO INJECT THE FLUID INTO IT UNTIL IT STARTS TO COME OUT. THEN CAREFULLY START VEHICLE AND INJECT ANOTHER 3/4 QUART UNLESS IT STARTS TO COME OUT OR EVEN A QUART.LET IT RUN FOR 5 MINUTES THEN CONTINUE TO INSERT UNTIL IT OVERFLOWS AND TIGHTEN THE PLUG BACK TO THE PAN. i WOULD ONLY USE AUDI VOLKSWAGON FLUID AND YES IT CAN RUN $14 TO $18 A LITER

SOURCE: no dipstick to put transmission fluid into

HI, this transmission is a sealed type. you will need to purchase a special tool from the dealership to fill this unit properly.

Contact the nearest Audi dealer for this fill tool.

SOURCE: 98 toyota camry transmission service.

You can drain and fill your trans. It will take 2.5 -3.0 quarts of DEX III trans fluid....goes in the fill tube. Or you can get said transmission flushed which changes all fluid including torque converter.....about 15 quarts. Way more thorough.

Change the transmission fluid in a 2000 ford windstar van

The transmission service is performed by lifting the vehicle in order to get access to the transmission pan. Remove all the bolts that hold the pan in place and the fluid will come out when the pan is being lowerd. From there the filter is accesible and should be changed by simply pulling it downward. The new one is installed by pushing it firmly in place where the old one once was. Clean the pan of the transmission completely including the magnet. place new gasket around the pan and reinstall all the pan bolts. be carefull not to over tighten the pan bolts as it can damage the new gasket the you have put on. next, lower the vehicle and add fluid through the dipstick tube located in the engine compartment. It's best to add 4 quarts then start the vehicle and check the level. If more is needed, add accordingly.

There is none. To change the fluid you need to remove the cover - undo one end first to limit the mess - but yes, it's messy. AnswerBest To Have A Good Transmission Shop Do This. Sometimes You Can Miss Alighn The Filter On Some Tranmissions And They Will Go Out. About Changing The Fluid, Even If You Could It Wouldn`t Do The Job Without a New Filter. Good Luck AnswerThere is an excellent write-up on this procedure relating to a Taurus - the steps are the same.
See "Related Questions" below for more

NOTE: dropping the pan alone will NOT change ALL the fluids - specifically the fluid that is in the torque converter. That would require a shop to perform a full fluid change with their specialized equipment. Answerdrop the pan, replace filter, clean pan replace gasket torq bolts to spec. refill to warm line on stick
Rick
ASE L-1 Master TransMichigan.com AnswerRemove the pan and then remove the filter on the valve body. Clean the pan and gasket surfaces on pan & trany. Install new filter and pan gasket and gently tighten bolts. Caution, if overtightened it will leak!!! Remember how tight they were when you removed them or get a spec & torque them. Refill the trany through the filler tube, DON'T overfill it or it may not shift properly. To check the fluid level the vehicle needs to be running in park and on a level surface. If you do the above you will only change aprox 40% of the fluid. The torque converter, cooler & lines hold the rest and the fluid won't drain out of them.
I suggest you take it to a shop that has a trany FLUSHING machine and will exchange 100% of the fluid and do the filter & gasket at the same time. Add a bottle of seal conditioner when done. With the price of a new trany this should be done every 80,000 kilometers (50-60,000 miles) or check your owners manual for service intervals. Not a lot of shops have this machine so be selective. Might cost up to $200-250.00 for this service to get it done properly but a proper trany rebuild can be $1500-3000.00 or more in some cases on some vehicles.
Flushing the fluid?

But the system should be flushed. Just dropping the pan and draining the oil and changing the filter on your transmission leaves all the used fluid still in torque converter. Have the system evacuated and totally replacing ALL the fluid is a much better approach. It will cost you more but if you plan on keeping the Ford, it's a worthwhile investment.

Change transmission fluid

If fluid doesnt look brown or dirty dont but if ya need to there is rarely a drain plug so u usually have to remove all of the bolts except for a few in one corner of the drain pan, loosen the remaing bolts to allow pan to tilt and drain fluid out after this u can remove pan completely and wipe it out if you are haveing trany probs check for metal shavings or a silver/grey color on the cloth that u wiped the pan clean with also while ur in there u might want to change filter.

When the preform the transmission service they will drain you transmission of its ATF fluid an replace it with new fluid. It is essentially an oil change for your transmission.

Lots of forgein car dealers say no but ive own and service nissan toyota and i dont change the fluid because you never get all the old oil out and then you mix new and old, what we do is called a trany flush done with a bg flush machine and is done every 30,000 miles unless its syntheic trany oil then at 100,000 miles, the flush is done with a cleaner and then a conditioner and removes 100% of the old oil. hope this helps.

Transmission Fluid Capacity?

I will assume you have already drained the trany. You could have measure the fuid out and replaced all but a quart. Estimate what you took out minus a quart and run the trany through all the gears. let is set and measure what you need. Even simpler, get the manual for the unit and look up maintenace.

Where do you check the transmission fluid

It's synthetic fluid and there is no dipstick , transmission sealed.
How to check fluid:
Warm up engine , raise vehicle on the lift with engine runing on park position , unscrew drain plug (don't warry it has tube in there ), if you see fluid coming out for 10-15 sec.- level is ok.
If nothing coming out - level is low.
There is a filler tube in front of the transmission with the red cap and red plustic sealing clamp.
If you able to take clamp out without braking it , you can reuse it after.
Fill transmission through filler tube with engine runing
and trany on park position , till fluid starts runing from drain plug , reinstall drain plug , reseal filler tube.
NEVER TURN ENGINE OFF WITH TRANSMISSION DRAIN PLUG UNINSTALLED !!!!!!!!!!!

How do i inject the transmission fluid in the transmission

there is a small filler neck in frt. of the trany , with red cap on it. Brake the cap , there will be a plug under.
Proccedure : engine on idle , take of plug at the bottom of trany oil pan(with engine on idle!!!!! , if engine off , fluid will leak out) , use transfering pump to pump oil in to filler neck untill it starts leaking from bottom plug , wiat till it only drips , put bottom plug back in and torque it. Now you can shut engine off and seal filler neck.
Use only approved trany fluid .This trany takes syntetic fluid.

How do i check my transmission fluid? for a 2000

Set the parking brake and put a block on at least one wheel. Pop the hood and find the Transmission dipstick. Start the engine and shift the gear shift into neutral. Pull the dipstick, wipe it with a clean rag, put it back in, pull it out and read it.

How do i change the transmission fluid out of my 2000 gmc jimmy myself is there a drain plug ?? if so were at ?

There are two ways to changing the transmission oil. If your going to change the transmission oil and filter, your going to have to drop the transmission oil pan to get to the filter and the oil will drain from there, but keep in mind that it will get messy. The other way to replace the transmission oil if that is all your going to do is to get a large bucket and a small hose the size of the transmission oil line. You can disconnect the transmission oil line from the radiator on the passenger side and connect the hose to the line and the other end to the bucket. Start the truck and try to do this with two people, one to hold the hose and one to start the turn off the engine when the transmission is almost out of fluid. DO NOT RUN THE TRANSMISSION DRY, so make sure the other person understands you when you tell them to shut off the engine. This will ensure that you replace most of the fluid in the transmission, once most of the oil fluid has been drained from the transmission, just reconnect the oil line and refill the transmission fluid through the oil dip stick. Good luck and hope this helps.
