SOURCE: Front Main Seal is blown on the Transmission

You have to remove the transmission, remove the torque converter to access the seal. Most likely the bushing behind the seal is worn out allowing fluid to leak past the seal. After the trans. is out, take it to a trans. shop. It requires a special tool to change the bushing. Seems like a bunch of work for $10.00 in parts. The rear main seal requires pulling the pan to access it. When the trans. is out, this is the time to replace the rear main seal on the engine.

SOURCE: transmission problem 2001 ford mustang v6 auto.

most probably it is in limp mode. If you have second gear and reverse it is a computer related problem. you need to check with scan tool and pull codes, If your unable to check codes then about the only thing you can do is guess at what is wrong. Make sure you have power to the transmission computer. Then with out diagnostic codes would be to replace computer. Todays vehicles have codes that are stored for troubleshooting and with out them it's just guessing.

SOURCE: Mustang Transmission leak

it is possible it is bad. It is also very possible that the fluid is too low to work correctly. If the fluid level is right, Id say the tranny is no good.

SOURCE: transmission won't come out of reverse

your Transmission is controlled by a cable on the mustang. it could have Came off of the transmission. it just snaps on to a lever on the transmission. or the cable broke. other wise it came unhooked from your shifter.

SOURCE: how do i change the front seal on the automatic

Your first step is to diconnect the battery. Then comes the hard part you must pull the transmission out of the car and put it on a bench or work table (for ease of working). After this you must remove the torque convertor and there is a seal ther and also a seal for the front pump. Ifyou replace both make sure everything is perfectly clean before installing any seals or they will leak again. Transmission fluid is very thin and will find gaps at seals due to dirt very easily. After seals are installed reinstall trans and fill with the proper fluid as per owners manual. Start car and leave it warm up while checking for leaks and recheck the fluid. If everything looks good road test and recheck. If still fine just keep an eye on it and drive away.
