Question about 2003 Pontiac Grand Am

Open Question

I need an asembly diagram for the clutch push rod on a 2003 grand am. The clip broke and now the pedal goes to the floor and stays there. I had to buy the complete push rod but only needed the clip. Nothing new there. I need a drawing of how it connects to the pedal. The Haynes manual was of no help.

Need a clutch pedal diagram for a 1999 s10 2.2 4cyl manual trans

Sorry no diagram. But here is how it works. In the start position(Power) the wire goes to the start fuse, from the fuse it goes to the clutch pedal switch. Push the pedal and it goes to the starter relay. On the other end is ground. If it is good it pulls the relay closed. On the closed end is battery power to the starter.

New clutch installed. No pedal, stays on floor unless I bring it back up with my hand. No resistance.

`Did it bleed, did fluid come out in a steady stream? Isn't there a spring to bring the pedal off the floor?
Check the linkage of the pedal to rod to the clutch master cylinder, make sure that is all together. Any chance the master has an internal leak and won't build hydraulic pressure down at the slave? If you get it bled, then watch the slave operation while someone works the clutch pedal. The piston on the slave should extend and push the clutch fork enough to disengage the clutch.

Car will not engauge into 1st or 2nd gear

the gear grinding noise is because the clutch plate is not fully disengaging and the input shaft is still driving. If you did not use the same length of push rod then the slave cylinder is not moving enough to disengage the clutch. Check it out that with the pedal on the floor the piston in the slave cylinder should be almost to the edge of the slave cylinder . That is where It should be to be working properly

Grand am clutch pedal

try opening the bleed nipple on the slave cylinder so that you are not trying to press against the pressure plate when you push the rod into the master cylinder.

Clutch pedal went to floor no fluid loss push rod disassembled

If your clutch reservoir is still full, you have had a failure of either the clutch master cylinder, or the clutch slave cylinder.

Clutch pedal went to the floor but did not come back up. Heard something 'pop' when pushing in clutch last night. Got home, then tried to start car this morning and clutch made a 'pop' sound again when...

there is a plastic clip that connects the clutch pedal to the rod that goes to the master cylinder, chances are that it let go. Bad thing is that it is only available from GM along with the rod. It is around 50

Clutch pedal stays to the floor and car is now stuck in neutral. Can raise the pedal with hand but will not raise on it's own

clutch hydralics is gone, meaning you have a leak, check clutch master cylinder, see if its empty, if so refill and pump pedal sevarel time may have to lift by hand sometimes then look for a leak, most times it the slave cylinder, thats what pushs clutch fork to disengage clutch. hope this is helpful good luck.
