SOURCE: 2004 GMC Sierra High Oil Pressure

if it is electrical oil pressure sensor I would start there. The best way to see if you have a major problem is to use a mechanical oil pressure tester. Take off the oil pressure sensor and put the mechanical tester on. The tester should come with a Gage. If it comes within your trucks oil pressure range than all is fine and replace the sending unit and see if that don't help your problem.If the tester runs high then the oil pump is bad or your cam-bearings could be the problem. But with cam-bearings you would usually get a low reading.

SOURCE: oil pressure sending unit

Hi there;

Your looking foer the oil pressure sensor on the 2004 8.1L.
You will find it located directly behind the EGR valve threaded into the block just to the drivers side of the center bolt for the transmission to block connection.

Thanks
Farrout!

SOURCE: AC Low Pressure location on 2004 Chevy Suburban

You find the AC low pressure at the top of the compressor, orientated toward you , facing the front of the vehicle. You can also follow the compressor line to reach the port.

The valve is covered a plastic cap covering it.
Near the compressor you find two ports, the high port and low port.

To find out which one is the low port, run the air conditioner for a couple of minutes withthe engine on.
Then turn off the care and touch the lines from compressor to the two ports covered with plastic caps. Only one of the pipes will be cold, the cold line will lead you to the low port.

Regards.

If your talking about oil pressure switch in parallel with fuel pump relay, doesn't apply with this vehicle. Note the diagram, I looked at info for the 3.5L engine. Check applicable fuses. Oil pressure fluxuation in 5.7 vortec 2001 chevy sububan

If the oil is in good shape, less than 2000 miles then I would have the oil sensor checked for accuracy. You need to have this looked at because if this is really an oil pressure issue then you could be damageing your engine.
