Idle air control or throttle position sensor if you can raise the engine rpms in park or neutral but drop in drive or reverse the truck dies the throttle position has a dead spot in the contacts inside the sensor from everyday use and is now no good if you can't get the rpms to go up the idle air controls either shot or the hose going to it has a hole in it or your spark plugs are out of gap and can not maintain the idle because of the air gap and the lower rate of firing when the idle rpms drops check all and good luck Stephen
Which engine? What have you done for maintenance? Last time spark plugs replaced? Only when cold or happens when warm too?

That's because they are hidden quite well. If you look at the engine, you'll see yellow plastic prongs (?) that look like spark plugs, but hook up to the silver tubing. That's the fuel injectors. BUT, right behind the yellow plugs, are black ones. The black one is the connector to the spark plug. The plug itself sits about 4 inches down into the block of the engine. They are a real pain, and from what I can tell, you only have decent access to the first 2-4 of them, then they get too far back and start going under the dash (you'll see what I mean when you get there).

the OD light blinking is telling you that there is a problem with the trans. most auto parts stores will read the codes for free.

brake-sahift interlock solenoid not working. check fuse first. when key is on and brake is pressed, it either activates or deactivates the solenoid so you can shift out of park. safety thing.
chrck owner manual for a mechanical overide process. maybe there is one.
SOURCE: 2001 ford expedition windshild wipers dont work,

Now the car starts out of neutral but the windshield whippers dont work, the windows dont go down dont work, and the dome lights dont work. I checked all fuses and all seem fine. Is there another fuse that I may have overlooked or do all of these run of the same fuse. What fuse should I check where is the relay for this located what else should I try live in cali water is not the problem. Thanks
