Hi there,

The overdrive light flashing is either the detection of a shorted EPC (Electronic Pressure Controller) or a defective sensor. Bad shifts are a sign of the EPC, while good perfrormance would suggest a bad sensor. Also a quick check is the wiring conections being dirty/comtaninated. Cleaning and di-electric grease could fix your connections.

Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop. The overdrive off light flashes is telling you that the transmission has a problem an code's are set in the transmission control module or PCM - engine computer . Speedometer an odometer not working could mean speed sensor is bad . Checking code's with a factory or professional scan tool is need . The heater fan not turning off is a seperate problem , relay stuck closed maybe . Is it running at high speed ?

I have a 1995 Toyota Camry and my overdrive light is flashing on and off also, my speed odometer quit working all at the same time
you need to check your owner manual to see if you should be driving it. something electrical has went out in the transmission maybe a module.

My check engine light came on and the engine rpms seem to be jumping like the engine is missing. It doesn;t do it as much when I take the overdrive off. All of my fluids are good.
Turn the ignition key about 4 or 5 time and a code would appear on the odometer. With that code you should be able to zero in on the problem.

Speed sensor and overdrive
OVERDRIVE ENGAGEMENT IS TIED TO THE SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL, THE SYSTEM WILL NOT GO INTO OD UNTIL THE CAR REACHES A CERTAIN SPEED, IN MOST CASES AROUND 35-40 MPH, THE SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL TELLS THE ECU WHEN THE CORRECT SPEED HAS BEEN REACHED.
