Unfortunately you probably need a new distributor. There are three pick-up coils mounted down inside the base of it. They go bad quite commonly. The unfortunate part is; the new distributor will come with a new cap, rotor, coil and module...which you have already bought. The distributors are not that expensive though, maybe you can sell the extra parts???

Have 1997 honda prelude w/ honda accoustic feedback system sterio, the anti theft light is blinking and stereo will not turn on to put in code for re-use. dont have manual. disconnected battery and...

first check fuses. check fuse 18(7.5a acc) in the under dash fuse/relay box. then check fuse 46(15a(typesh)10a), and fuse 43(7.5aclockradio) in the under hood fuse/relay box. if all fuses are good then you need to make sure you have 12v on the white/yellow wire(batt) and the white/red wire(ignition) on the blue connecotr on the back of the audio unit(the wht/red wire will only have 12v with the ignition in on or run.

92' Honda prelude doesn't start

Change ignition module in distributor. If it is actually starting and stopping right away, and the fuel filter is good, it will be the MAF. Mass air flow sensor. But if it was that it probably wouldn't start even after an hour. Sounds more like the module. You can change the whole distributor if that's easier for you. If it was me, i'd get one from a wrecker.

93 prelude starting problems

I had a similar problem on my 93 Prelude. Apparently the original ignition module has a high plastic content. This doesnt do well with heat obviously. I had the ignition replaced with an aftemarket part that did not use as much plastic in its pieces and it fixed the problem.

Wont start

The problem is likely in the injection module which is located in the dash right behind the flip down tray to the right of the flip down fuse door the the left of the steering wheal. To test simply rapidly slap the fuse/vanity flip down door area while starting the car and it will start.I have had 5 preludes and all have the same problem a replacement is 150 or you can sotter all the connections on the board inside the fuel injection module. This will fix the problem as the original connections develop miniscule cracksAll preludes have this problem in really hot or cold weather
