oNE BOLT MISSING IS A PROBLEM IN ITSELF. And yes if you have a swepentine belt you must have a tebnsioner,. If it's a V belt then no the missing bolt is probably your adjustment point. Good luck

How do i intall a/c belt alternator Belt and power steering belt for 350 engine

The power steering pump has has mounting bolts that also serve to hold tension on the belt. Same for the alternator. Loosen the bolts but don't take completely out, push the pump or alternator towards the engine to release tension. Replace the belts. Use a long handled pry bar to push against the alternator or power steering pump to apply tension to the new belt while simultaneously tighten the bolts.

How to replace the power steering belt on a 4g13

ADJUSTMENT

Excessive belt tension will cause damage to the alternator and water pump pulley bearings, while, on the other hand, loose belt tension will produce slip and premature wear on the belt. Therefore, be sure to adjust the belt tension to the proper level.
To adjust the tension on a drive belt, loosen the adjusting bolt or fixing bolt locknut on the alternator, alternator bracket or tension pulley. Then move the alternator or turn the adjusting bolt to adjust belt tension. Once the desired value is reached, secure the bolt or locknut and recheck tension.

How can i fit engine belt of hyundai azera 2009

  • Find the tensioner. The serpentine belt tensioner is what holds the belt in place with the correct tension: it is held to the engine by two bolts. Some describe the Hyundai Sonata tensioner pulley as attached to a teardrop shape, with the bolts holding the structure to the engine.
  • 2 Remove the two bolts near the tensioner with your wrench (bolt size may vary by model). Take off the tensioner and the belt.
  • 3 Use a belt routing diagram or your own sketches to replace the serpentine belt. This is helpful for some models: from the power steering pump, the belt goes to the left of the idler pulley, then over and around the right side of the air conditioner compressor pulley, around the left side of the crank pulley, to the right of the tensioner pulley, and down to the alternator.
  • 4 Replace the tensioner and the new belt together. Mechanics recommend seating the belt on the tensioner before replacing the tensioner onto the engine rather than trying to pry the belt over the pulley.
  • 5 Tighten the two lock bolts that hold the tensioner.
  • 6 Check to see that the belt is seated correctly on all of the pulleys. Run the engine and observe to check for proper installation.

I just had the belts changed on my 1998 Plymouth Breeze and the power steering pump and bracket changed. I have noticed lately that there is a squealing noise coming from under the hood. Could my belts...

The belts shouldn't need to be changed again. There are a number of reasons why the belt could be squealing. There could be too little tension on the belt, either adjusted incorrectly or a bad automatic tensioner. Fluids could be leaking onto the belt. Pulleys could be misaligned or it's possible that the wrong size belt was used. I would bring it back to whomever changed the belts and explain what is occurring and under what conditions.

I have to replace my alternator belt on my 92 vw cabriolet. I can't seem to release the tension on the "other" belt thats in the way. I found the tension release bolt on the bottom and I thought I'd...

There should be two bolts one at the pivot point other at the tension point might be rusted in positing. Take a piece of wood and try to crack it loose or a rubber hammer to get it that extra force.

As for the other belts there should be a third pully just for tension for the ac and for the power steering just loosing the pivot bolt and the tension bolt and it all should come loose
