No only if it is defective or you know that you had a short, it is common for a shop to replace both but only after testing to see if there is more than .2 ohms resistance on any of the two prongs on the relay or from the computer to ground.

89 toy pickup 22re blowing efi fuse, I have traced wires to no end. Had truck 33 yrs, desperately need it running!! Help!!

old cars do this, all do mostly , that old.
year and engine told a wise post that.(but A/T or M/T trans box?)
2wd/4wd?

first let me ID that real fuse name.
what is fuse amp rating, (and have many spares for testing?)
still have users guide in the glove box and see fuse page for proper names of fuses.?
so the fuse that blows is 15amps under hood, relay box 2 it is called.
if yes I have answers, that fuse EFI is fuse #2
fuse 1 is charge fuse 3 is HAZ-horn'
so yes I have the schematic for that F2 feed buss.
feeds blk/grn wire to....ECU direct and ECU indirect via EFI main relay to ECU. and via fuelpump relay to fuel pump.
so is 2 things, really ECU and pump.
the ECU are know to have bad shorted capators inside, 20 year design life (easy fix really)
but the tricky part is if you unplug the ECU the pump is offline see?
so to find the short with spare fuse
at rear of car unplug the fuel and now the EFI 15 amp fuse does not blow the pump is bad and is common.
the pump has brushes inside that old they mangle up and short.
if fuse blows, the ECU is shorted inside.
bad caps sure. super common that,
cardone1 may have spare ECU rebuilt here
let me see, (not sold direct but via all car parts stores)

here they are based on drive line, 2wd 4wd and more.
It is plug and play, no programming needed or done.

https://www.cardone.com/search.php?search_query=%22VKOI3~%22&year=1989&make=TOYOTA&model=PICKUP&Part%20Type=Engine%20Control%20Module&sort=relevance

find the PN the find it for sale at any store googled.
in hurry USA go to NAPA and ask them to get it. by number seen ab ove.
they used do send in repair if out of stock, ask them CARDONE

How to change mini thermestat

You have to remove the battery/ecu box and preferably the air filter box as well
to get good access to the thermostat housing.
You might want to replace rather than reuse the thermostat housing too, as the part is only about $37,
and they're prone to failing (a new radiator cap -#11 - is included with the housing).
Ya might as well get new clamps as the old ones don't always re-use well. They're inexpensive.
The thermostat comes with a gasket already on it, for $30.

My Alfa 2004 computer box one of the pins is burnt what can I do?

if a pin is burnt on any ECU engine computer
inside a diode may have failed

ECU incl ignition key for Alfa Romeo 147 1 9 JTD 115 hp 5 doors 2004 Bosch...

find a used or referbished unit with same numbers on the outer casing as your damaged ECU
the replacement has to be from the same year and engine type as your car and same number of pins and plug ins

auto electrician might have the equipment and time to referb it

when fitting a used ECU
you may need to re sync the system with a diagnostic tool

Where is the ecu located on a 2004 nissan maxima 3.5 sl

This is a copy/paste from a Nissan forum:

C/P

The ECU is located on the floor directly behind the radio. You do NOT need to remove any glove box, dash, or vents to access it. There is a black plastic cover with 2 round plastic snaps that cover the ECU. From the driver's side, the cover is directly beside the gas pedal. Pull on the cover to remove it, and there is the ECU. The ECU has (4) 8mm screws that hold it to the mounting bracket. Then it slides out towards the passenger's side.

As for the part number, you need the Consult-II to get it. But you also need a code that is written on top of the ECU if you are looking for a junkyard spare. You can see this code from the passenger's side without removing the ECU from the mounting bracket (You will need a flashlight). The number should be A56-***-** or something like that.

Hi. My Jag head lights have started this blinking thing. As I am driving they will blink for no apparent reason. There doesn't appear to be anything going on otherwise. Any ideas where to start?

I had an S-Type too, I found this blinking when battery charge was low. So my opinion is something wrong with charging, you have to check battery contacts, measure battery voltage and check alternator. A possible case, contact problem at ECU. THe ECU under the house of pollen filter at engine end. You need some car mechanic ambition to remove the house of pollen filter and to clean ECU connectors with contact cleaner spray.
Of course this is just my experience, no guarantee, this works at you.

ECU location

If it is in there check also on the drivers side of the engine block. Often , on new models the ECU is mounted behind the fuel filter housing.
Another way to find the ECU is following the wiring that are coming from the fuse box, on one way they go toward the device, on the other they go to the car computer

Here is the ECU:
