ONE OF TWO ISSUES MOST PROBABLE CAUSE:: 1) DRIVE SHAFT OUT OF ROUND...PUT IT ON A RACK AND WATCH DRIVE SHAFT AT IDLE...WHILE IT'S UP THERE LOOK AT TRANSMISSION MOUNT...2) TRANSMISSION MOUNT SEVERED...

The linkage to my 4X4 transfer case is broken and there is TOTAL slack in the 4X4 shifter so would that cause the vibration? My catalytic converter is also very bad. I'm in the process of fixing it & getting quotes on the cost for both issues. Ohh, should I have them tighten the tranny and motor mounts as well, while they're working on it? Thank You.
Can I Just get the Linkage to my transfer case fixed for now UNTIL I get it rebuilt in FEBruary? It's only got 188K Miles on it.
I got a quote for a transfer case rebuild of $350+ from a very good trans shop already.

Motor mounts or harmonic balancer.

SOURCE: 2000 Dodge Dakota vibration while driving
sound like the u-joints in the driveshaft. Lay under the truck and where the u-joints are try moving the driveshaft up and down. If it moves then the u-joints are bed. This will cause a tremendous vibration under a load and the faster it spins it will smooth out.

If it's sitting idle and not moving it could be the engine mounts or gearbox

Anything loose could cause a vibration sound, so it’s hard to guess. If it’s the actual engine you hear vibrating at idle, the cause would most likely be inside, or connected to the engine. For instance, As your motor mounts age or wear out, the rubber degrades and allows metal to metal contact.
So should I have them check the motor & trans mounts while their fixing it? I would say prolly yes.

Yes...Have the vehicle's motor mounts checked as well...A complete inspection of all suspension, and transmission components is in order...How do you know the catalytic converter is "very bad"? Do you have a check engine light on? And if so do you have a trouble code?
Yes, my check engine light is flashing while driving it. My Owner's Manual said: Warning, Severe Catalytic Converter Damage OR Power Failure will Occur.
Prior the Check Engine light flashing, I had it tested and it showed that Coil 6 was misfiring. I had it replaced but, now it shows both Coil 6 & Coil 1 are misfiring. So, I'm kinda worried cuz I always maintain my truck, like it very much & the Make/Model of my Dakota Sport isn't made anymore. All small makes of trucks are no longer available, so I want to keep it. It's in good shape with exterior/interior.
Ohh, the engine doesn't vibrate while sitting idle., only while driving it 45-50 mph it starts vibrating. I Just put new Copper tires on her last fall.
You have quite a list of problems for a Christmas eve...Lets see if we can minimize the faults...First I understand that initially the vibration was while driving...And I have addressed that issue...Now let's look at the misfire issue: I understand you replaced coil on plug for #6 but it did not fix problem; am I correct? And now the misfire is on 6&1...1) Are the spark plugs new or old? If old let's get them changed...2)After replacing all eight plugs is the misfiring of 6 & 1 repaired? if yes let me know...If it still misfires on these two plugs we may have dirty on bent pins on one connector going to the PCM (computer)...It is located on passenger side inner fender wall...It has three connectors:from left to right C1, C2, AND C3...C1 controls coil on plug firing...On C1 PINS 5 AND 7 control plugs 6 and 1(DON'T PANIC THIS IS NOT COMPLICATED)...WITH BATTERY DISCONNECTED REMOVE C1...RADIO SHACK HAS A SPRAY CLEANER FOR ELECTRICAL PINS...spray the pins both on the connector and where it was seated on PCM...INSPECT CONNECTOR PINS AND WIRING FOR ANY DAMAGE...REPLACE AND TIGHTEN C1, AND SEE IF MISFIRE IS CURED...send message...merry christmas will address cat problem later...
see diagram of PCM...
