Make sure that the gas cap is on tight. Some vehicles even have a sticker telling you to turn it so many "clicks" These new vehicles have what is called a closed system.

Your fuel pump is sticking and not pumping, this is common if you run the fuel down to less than 1/4 full, the fuel pump needs the gas to cool itself, below a 1/4 tank the pump is not getting cooled and after repeatably running low on fuel it overheats and fails. Running the car near 1/2 tank extends the pump life to many years more than running tank below a 1/4 full..

Sound like it could be the purge valve, it is located between the cab and the box on the drivers side, it has a plug and a hose going to it. It has a small foam filter in it which must be removed, cleaned, dried and then reinstalled.
It happened to me.
I don't remember if I had to remove the neg. post off the battery for a minute or so to reset the fault code.

sounds like the same problem i was just having try changing out your fuel regulator its pretty pricey try to find the cheapest around $75.

Change your fuel filter, it may have gone it's life time and is getting to dirty to let fuel flow properly. Your fuel pump to may be getting weak, if the fuel filter is dirty the pump works harder and heats up and could be over heating the fuel pump relay too. The fuel pump relay i believe is in the glove box behind a panel that say relay, there should be (3) in there and the middle one is the fuel pump's. switch then around after you change the fuel filter and if you get a chance, check your fuel pressure at the shredder valve. Good luck and hope this help's if there is a Auto Zone around you, you can ask to use the fuel pressure gauge to see what fuel pressure you have and they'll have the step by step instructions on how to do it and takes about 5 min to do and will have the fuel filter and step by step to replace that too. Crank sensor. Next time it does this spray some water on it and see if it cranks. Its by the crankshaft pulley towards front of car.
