Take the six bed bolt loose and then take three buddies slide the bed back put in the new pump slide it back n place and put the bed bolts back in. if u drop the tank u can easily break the hard plastis lines that go to the fuel tank. u only have to take the fill lines and taillight wires loose this way its alot quicker, and easier.

DROP THE FUEL TANK MAKE SURE YOU GO ABOUT HALF WAY THEN UNHOOK ALL THE LINES AND TERMINALS SO AS TO NOT DAMAGE THEM ALSO YOU NEED TO RELEASE THE FUEL PRESSURE AT FUEL RAIL BEFORE REMOVING ANY LINES

Drop the tank, don't forget the vacuum line on the front top. Unless your bed bolts are in nice shape and you got friends to lift ita

Changed fuel filter in 2001 Chevy SIlverado 4.3L v6, pump is working but no fuel to throttle body. Will start and run if sprayed with Carb cleaner, but stop after spray stops.

It is possible for pump to run but not put out pressure. Sounds like you need a pump. There is a valve on the fuel rail where you can test fuel pressure. Its just like a tire valve. Just push in on the center pin to see if you get a spray of fuel. It requires around 55 pounds to run. You will need to connect a gauge to the valve to check for proper pressure.

I have a 2001 chevy silverado 1500 with a 4800 vortec engine. it starts and idels fine but when ever i give it gas, the engine starts to sputter and dies. ive already changed the fuel filter and spark plug...

This sounds llike weak feul pressure, the fuelpump may need replacing, the first thing to do is have the fuel pressure tested and if the pressure is low then have the pump replaced. the pump is located inside the fuel tank and the tank will need to be dropped to replace the pump, good luck ,

2001 chevy silverado won't start when warm

Possible weak spark from ignition coil or low fuel pressure due to weak pump. Try spraying carb clean into intake throttle body when problem is present. If vehicle will start and run with a little spray then fuel pump is failing.

Is their a fuse for the fuel pump ( not the fuel

it appears that fuse 30 and the relay right beside it are for the fuel pump. the relay is definately for the fuel pump tho. it's located in the fuse panel inside the engine compartment near the battery.
