Question about 2002 GMC Envoy
Envoy will not change gears from 1 to 2 nd except by building RPM's and letting off accelerator. then will not go to 3rd or 4th period, when decelerating only has rumble noise. Have changed A&B solenoids in Transmission , fluid and filter, also changed rear differential grease...no metal found in either.
Hi, I exactly I have a gmc 2002 envoy and I have exactly this problem and we just change the oil and all transmission sensor and is still doing it so what problem can be thank you

SOURCE: 98 Civic Auto Trans Slippage
you need to replace clutch pack for that gear can be ordered seperately from parts store or dealer if you want to save money call peach street auto recycling at 1800-365-2341 for a warrantied used one! also might be time for change trans filter and fluid filter could be slightly clogged but I lean towards clutch pack I replace these alot on Hondas

SOURCE: transmission wont shift
check the kickdown/throttle valve cable. It may be bound up and stuck in the maximum position giving you extremely late shifts.
There ISN"T any modulators or vac lines on any Chrysler automatics

I had this exact problem on my 2005 5.3L Suburban... It would shift into 1 and 2 and reverse, but not 3 and 4.
I took it into a transmission shop, and he said the 3-4 shift solenoid was burned up. Wanted 1500 to fix it. Far from home, so I have to pay it.

check or replace your thottle position sensor tps that trans needs to know where the throttle is to shift if it is bad it will do as you say wont shift to third
another telltale is it will act like it goes into lockup when shifting into reverse and stall the engine
