SOURCE: need to locate thermostat in

Welcome to Fixya

The thermostat is located on the side head of the engine on the drivers side. If you follow the upper radiator hose to the plastic thermostat housing, (this is where it is located). This is a 2 piece housing. 3 BOLTS hold the main water housing to the engine block (These do not need to be removed to change the thermostat. The three screws on the thermostat housing (usually torx heads) need to be removed. (where the upper radiator). Inside you will find the thermostat. Remember to replace the thermostat gasket at the same time and also some thermostats will only fit in a certain way so pay attention when the old is removed if there is a little hole (foget what it is called) at the 12 oclock position on the thermostat.

SOURCE: location for a thermostat on a ford escape, picture

like most vehicules, the thermostat is located in it's housing. on the engine, behing the water pump and on top of the ac compressor, if so equiped. or just follow the top hose from the radiator to the engine and it's there, in the housing (3 bolts). they both need to be serviced at the same time, sorry.

SOURCE: 2014 ford escape was in a accident and everything was fixed now car will not start

Fords are equipped with a fuel shut off switch. When hit, it shuts the fuel system off. Most of the time these are in the rear drivers side . Lift hatch up and look on the left. Sometimes it is under the panel. After an accident, this usually has to be pulled out or pushed in to reset

SOURCE: How do I replace the third led brake light on a 2014 ford escape titanium

If you are going to replace a bulb in your cluster, it is a good idea to replace all of them. Not only will the lights on your Escape be brighter, you decrease the likelihood you will need to change any of the bulbs again in the near future. A burnt out bulb in the taillight cluster of your Escape is an excuse for a police officer to pull you over. Check your bulbs frequently and change burnt bulbs promptly

2014 Ford Escape. How do I replace the heater core please? I definitely need a new one, but the shop wants over $2000 to do it. Is there a way to back flush?

Question edited for clarity.
Two questions made into one. Duplicate deleted.

What makes you think you need a new one? Is it leaking? That is the only reason to replace it.

No heat? This is the normal reason.

It is a $2,000 job because the dash has to come off and sometimes the A/C evaporator needs removing as well. BUT, descaling or flushing the system is easy and done from where the hoses go through the engine firewall

this next video has good info on overheating engines.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evpaTW2WJ5Y
Two thing I noticed he did not mention.
If you have two fans one come on when you turn the A/C on the other come on when engine is close to normal operating temperature.
I don't think he mentioned water pump can cause overheating.
Most cars I have seen the you can find the thermostat by following the top hose from the radiator to the engine. it is usually where the hose connect to engine. I have heard sometimes follow the lower hose.

I am having difficulty locating it. I need to know how to locate and replace a thermostat on a 2002 ford escape

Follow the top radiator hose down to where it connects to the engine. You should find a dome shape item or a couple of smaller bolts that attach to the engine to the side of the radiator hose and the thermostat will be inside the housing. You will need to drain the radiator, remove the bolts holding the thermostat housing to the engine and remove the old stat and put in a new one be sure to make note of how the stat is facing when you remove it and put the new one in the same way. then reconnect the thermostat housing making sure the gasket is in place so it won't leak, then refill the radiator slowly so you don't cause an air lock in the radiator, with cap still off start the engine and allow it to warm up until the stat opens and then you will need to add more antifreeze to the system. Double check for any leaks. Turn on the heater and make sure you have good heat and you should be good
