Well the best way to tell is see if the a/c compressor is coming on.If it is not working check the freon level. If that is good find the low pressure switch on the dryer and unplug it then use a jumper wire and jump the wires to the switch ,if the compressor comes on replace that switch.Dont leave that wire on there or it will damage the a/c system then it will get very expensive to replace it.
Take it to a mech as there are many expensive parts you can break in it
