Question about Jeep Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

I have a 2008 Jeep Liberty Sport. The air for the a/c and heat will only come out of the defrost and floor vents. I have no problem with the air changing from hot to cold.

SOURCE: No dashboard heat output

The climate control was poorly designed on these cars.

There is only heat on the floor and defrost settings, due to the layout of the ductwork.

SOURCE: 1999 Jeep Cherokee sport/air vents do not blow out cold or hot while it is on

this sounds like the recirculation door in the heater box is broken and this is a difficult and can be an expensive repair as the dash has to be removed for access. a quick check for this is if you release the glove box and let it hang you will see the heater box if you reach up to the left top you will feel a grid and the recirc flap is housed there you can operate the blower and hot and cold and see if flap moves

SOURCE: 1997 ford e250 van. heat only no cool air.

One of your deflector door servos or the door itself, is hanging up. To determine this more clearly, run your vehicle for about two minutes and shut down the engine. Move your function selector knob from defrost to floor to panel and listen carefully for a sweeeping sound. if you do not hear this sound you've got to check under the dash for a loose vacuum line or under the hood for a loose or broken line to the vacuum accumulator. The vacuum accumulator is a large black ball on the firewall with only two lines connected to it. One line is about3/32nds of an inch and the other will be about one quarter inch. Check these lines well, for they control ALL the functions within yout climate control. Best of luck my friend, Dana

No heat is blowing to the floor in my 2010 jeep liberty. I have heat from the vents and defroster. Is this an actuator motor concern?

It sounds like it could be your problem. Do you hear the heater motor running in any speed and when you have the A/C on ?

Heater blows air thru floor vents and dash vents but no air thru defrost windshield vent

Suspect a defective blend door actuator motor that controls airflow for the defrost. This electric motor may be defective and in some makes and models can be extremely difficult/expensive laborwise to replace

Jeep liberty heater/defrost

check the actuator motor or motors on the heater. It is inside on the base of the heater and directs the air where you want.

2012 jeep liberty heater

If you find that the heater control is a problem then until you get an answer, try running the ac unit as well. It will dehumidify the cab air ( no fogging windscreen ) keep the cab at a reasonable temperature . In most cars it is referred to as climate control . Control is by the heater knob as to how hot you allow the heater to get

2008 jeep liberty vents not blowing out air?

I also have an 08 liberty, but my issue is that the heat won't blow out on the floor....the air vents and defrosters work great. You can hear it trying to switch over but doesn't. You need a new Air Flap Actuator (16-$30) The real issue is that you have to take offf the whole das in order to fix it. That is abouy 9 hours worth of work.

My air condition is only coming out of my Defrost vents. what can I do to fix it..

This may be caused by two things depending on the type of system, you may have a vaccum leak to the controls from the engine, like a broken vacuum line or your selector motor is bad, this motor moves a door in the heater/ac box that controls the flow of air to defrost vents or floor.i would say a 2004 jeep would mostlikely use the actuator motor instead of vacuum, have the selector motro checked.
