SOURCE: oil dip stick

Had the same problem last year - the plastic handle broke off and the top of the remaining plastic was visible down the tube but was stuck solid. Finally used an easy-out to get it out. Drilled a small hole into the plastic and then threaded a thin easy-out bit into the hole and it held enough for me to pull the dipstick out. Stupid design, a plastic handle on a metal dipstick!

Here in Canada the Intrepid is badged as a Chrysler. Sounds a bit dodgey to me :-)

Hello John. It might seem like your stick's ring (that rubber stopper that acts as a seal) has worn out. You need to replace the rubber seal or ring. If that cant be done, then perhaps getting another deep stick will help you solve it.

SOURCE: WHAT COULD THE REASON BE FOR SUMP PRESSURE AND OIL BLOWING OUT AT THE DIPSTICK?

Blowby, Do you have a lot of blowby? with warm engine at idle, remove oil fill cap, is it puffing out smoke?

Check your oil pressure, or maybe a gasket issue?

Dipstick snapped at handle and has now been pushed in side motor .. can i leave it there.. car is 2002 yg holden cruze

There should be a bolt holding the dip stick tube. Remove the bolt and the tube and the stick will be sticking out where the tube was. Remove the stick and reinstall the tube. Get a new dip stick.

Is the motor blown if there is water in the spark plugs and it smells burnt

not enough information
water et plugs is a head gasket and cracked head/s
smelling burnt could be oil leaks onto the manifold or low oil in the sump
simple tests you can do are , compression test (wet and dry), check sump oil level and condition ( smell as well as see the colour)
low compression figures across the range ( 100-115 or less)and black smelly oil and you could consider a replacement unit from the wreckers/junk yards

I have 2007 Hilux 3.0 KZTE the engine have a mis on one of cilinders and lot of black smoke and push oil out of dipstick pipe

i suspect that the injectors need an overhaul from the black smoke and misfire and also the fact that they are probably leaking fuel into the manifold past an open inlet valve and into the sump making the sump level too high

What else can i do to solve compression pressure in the sump on a Hyundai H100 2012 2.6D bakkie? oil was blowing from the dipstick now pouring from the crank rear main seal.

First thing ,,,Is to remove dipstick and run engine [now how much back pressure have you got] if none ,ok .what is the oil pressure when cold, and when hot , should be very little differance, what ring gap did you give the rings when they were fitted. and was the rear main seal a good fit or loose fit ,,,and as for fitting new oil rings AGAIN and that stopped the pressure in the sump from blowing out the dip stick hole well THE compression rings are the ones which should have been checked for the correct gap and at -003thou per inch per bore,as the oil rings are only oil scrapers, and compression rings are for Compression is what you have a lot of in the sump.
Let me know how you get on,

I own a 1987 chevy iroc z28 and have found metal shavings on my dipstick will i need to replace my engine or can that be fixed

Does it burn oil, smell oil filler cap for burnt oil smell, dipstick must be magnetized, unusual. Safest for you to drop the oil in a long clean tray for inspection, be careful of sump plug as it should also have shavings, note if shavings are small and short, if long, then bearings are seriously in danger, flush engine with quality engine oil flush fluid, put new quality oil in and filter, run engine for around 250 miles and re inspect, dipstick, sump plug, and oil, if significant shavings are found, change all mains and con-rod bearings, if hardly any or none, reuse oil and check after about 1000 miles.

Piston fitting

Less power output. Car sluggish. Spark plug oily and need replacing more often. Engine breathing too much. Faulty compression ring will cause too much pressure in the sump. Leading to oil leaks at the sump, and or maybe at the rear and front main oil seals. Oil will also be visible at the air filter housing. Remove dipstick while car is idling. The pressure shoul be low. If too much fumes is visible. You might have failed compression rings. Valve stem seals or worn valve guides

Toyota yaris problem

Do Not do that!! Anything foreign in the sump is a really bad idea.It way make its way to the oil pickup screen and partially block the flow of oil. This has the potential to damage your engine. At the bottom of the dipstick tube is usually a small bolt that attaches the tube to the side of the engine.I would remove this and see if I can fish it out then.Failing this you will have to drop the oil pan and get it that way.I know this may seem like a trivial thing but the potential is there to do a lot of damage.
If bits of plastic get past the screen and get into your engine any cost to get the stick out will seem very minor. good luck

My 1991 wrangler 6 cyl runs for few min then what appears to be exhaust and some oil comes out pvc and dipstick, whats wrong?

Sounds like a compression ring in one of your cylinders has broken and compression is being pushed into oil pan. Cylinder compression getting past the piston, instead of going out the exhaust it's going into oil pan and coming through engine (dipstick, air cleaner, PCV.) You'll need to have a compression test to confirm.

2000 taurus 3.0 flex fuel(lx) smelt burning gas checked the oil and the dipstick had practically no oil (nothing visible on dipstick), (no visible leaks, or smoke) filled with two quatrs of oil so i could...

You are burning oil for sure, if it was a leak you would have a large puddle under the car when it was parked and the underside would be covered in oil all the way to the gas tank. Modern catalytic converters tend to burn off oil so many times you see little smoke
