you need to replace the pad wear sensor when the pad wears down it wears the sensor and the sensor needs to be replace if you look at the sensor you can see the wire on the sensor wears threw

did you replace the sensors when the pad wears it cuts a wire on the sensor if you look at the sensor you will see it

That is the brake pad warning light. When is goes off the brakes, front or rear, need to be replaced. The brake pads and the sensor have to be replaced, as once the sensor is tripped, it can't be reset.

there is a abs sensor out some where have it scaned to c wicth one then replace bad clear the codes and its off.goodluck

If the brake pads were worn enough to activate the warning light the sensor or sensors must be replaced. There is no reset for this.

yes, you need a piston retract tool for the rear cylinders. rear piston must turn clockwise as it is being retracting.

I dunno if this will work on your BMW, but on my BMW Z3 and M3, it was....

Turn the ignition key to position 2, but do NOT start the car. Wait for about 45 seconds and the brake warning message will be reset.

If it doesn't reset, then the brake sensor was damage. You will need to replace the brake sensor. It sounds like you replace the brake right after you saw the warning, so the brake sensor should be okay.

You can do it yourself there is just a wire that you have to disconect from old pads and re-connect on the new pads.
