Open Question

I found out with the EX35 infiniti seat that the seat is not out of the track, it is the plastic cover. that is up to high and rides to the right of the track.

The plastic cover goes over and around the end of the track in the back toward the back seat Anyone know how to fix this? Thank you Christene Jowers

i just fixed this problem - the switch is bad - take out the seat - 4 bolts on the bottom 4 corners and then remove the whole switch - either buy a new one around $200 or unsauter the switch and clean it but be careful as there are a lot of parts inside that can fall out. i cleaned mine and it works fine beats spending the money.

Unless the motors were replaced at one time, the only bolts holding the window to the regulator are at the slides. any hardware that fell apart should be inside the bottom of the door. Panel removal is pretty simple..only hidden fastener is on the edge...small reflector has one under there.
Haynes makes a good reference for that car for about $20.

there is no seperate battery in the car for the keyless entry system, either the remote needs to be re-programmed at a dealer with the proper scan tool or the remote itself is bad.

Yes a head normally can be milled (shaved) down and a new gasket installed to fix the engine. Be sure to fix WHY it overheated too. Of course change oil and coolant too!

I have and 04 avalanche and the seat is stuck ! I
There is a small cable on each side of the the seat, they are covered with a hard plastic cover. If that cover breaks, it will let the cable come out. When one side of the seat gets off track from the other side , it wont move. The cable is flexible, the cover holds them straight. The cover is either a dealer item or junkyard.

How do you remove the "TRACK TRIM" from the front seat of my Honda Ridgeline.
check for screws or caps covering screws in the plastic trim.if there aren't any take a flashlight and look under the seat for clips that release the plastic, it may just pry off.

Infiniti I35 2004 with all options and 80,000 miles. The driver's electric seat is jammed at the back position and tries to go forward whenever the car starts and all it can do is make a grinding...
sounds like the motor is bad easiest and cheapest way to fix would be to get a complete seat from the Junk yard the seat should come with all the motors and tracks all you have to do is unbolt old seat and bolt down new one only draw back to this is seat might not be same color but there two ways to fix that first u could just get a set of seat covers Or you can take the track and motor off new seat and install them on the old seat

How do I remove the center console from an 2001 Infinity QX4
there will be a few screws you'll need to get to.
some will be on the bottom, to the left and to the right of the console, where the seat is. You may need to move the seat forward all the way or back all the way to gain access. Look for round plastic covers that are hiding the screws.
Also, check inside your console. Lift up the mat or cover that may be on the bottom of your console inside. There may be a screw or two there. Same with the cupholder rubber cups. Finally, at the front where the console meets the dash, there will be a few screws or locking tabs. Then carefully pull it up from the back. It should pop out.

How do you take the driver's seat out of a 1991 jetta?
Unplug the seat belt warning plug, under the seat. You'll need to remove the right side seat track cover, it has 2 plastic inserts holding it down, push the little pin thru the insert. On the other side, at the end of the track, remove the black seat stop. Then at the front of the seat, on the bottom, in the center of the seat, there is a small seat track, at the front of the bracket, you will a screw and a 10mm nut. Remove them, lift up the seat lever (like you were going to move the seat up or back) and slide the seat back until the seat is out of the tracks.

One side of driver seat does not move smoothly or at all.
Unfortunately you need a new seat track assembly. I'm an infiniti tech and have replaced MANY of these tracks.

Driver's seat unable to move forward or backward
There are plastic gears connecting the track to the seat assembly. Whne one of these strip the seat will only work or move to one side. Infiniti does not sell a simple fix. You are looking at buying an entire seat assembly complete with the module for all the electronics. It will be at a cost of around $950 - $1000. Once that is in, Infiniti must program the seat to the brain of the car, only then can you reset your memory settings.

Since I can't get a straight answer out of anyone and infinitis seem to be this freaking mysterious unfixable thing, I got one last question. I have an 04 Infiniti i35. It's in lockdown mode. I absolutely refuse to go to the dealer. I've hired a locksmith at the tune of $240, he came out, made a new key and it started like 5-7 times and then lockdown , called the guy back and he did it again for another $100, same thing, 5-7 times and lockdown. I have bought a ton of little things to do it somehow myself. I believe I have the right combination now. I bought a reprograming kit and have watched the YouTube videos, though none are of Infiniti, anyways, one good one said to look for the ic900 chip in my ecu, said it was standard on most ecm's, but again, we're talking about Infiniti now, so of course not... I have magnified, combed over with a fine tooth comb and even taken close pics and magnified those and found no such chip. Can anyone please tell me what the equivalent of my cars chip is. Supposedly a 6 or 8 leg chip

Need to find fuse for brake light for 2002 Infiniti I35... brake lights coming on all the time and drain battery. Must be electrical problem because pedal switch completely bypassed. Brake lights coming on all the time. Thought it was the pedal pad being broken but lights come on even with pedal switch removed from circuit so it is being bypassed. Apparently no fuse for this circuit, MFG may have installed nonremovable fusible link in harness instead. Will have to remove all lightbulbs in tail section and rear window light to be able to charge battery and be able to move the car. YouTube video said to look for 15 amp fuse labeled STOP L. which doesn't exist on my car. Would also like insight on just how the switch is being bypassed for the braking system. No burnt parts of odors. Only use car 1-2 x a week so I don't want to spend hundreds of $$$$$$ having to hunt down ghosts with the electrical system. I ride a bike most of the time so the car is only on rainy days and when I have to carry stuff.
