it's an 08 model. if this happens to alot of people they will do a recall. i would call your dealer and let them know what happend so it can be fixed. from the sounds of it it is a workmanship problem and should be covered by the manufactor and should be replaced free.

I had a problem on my 2006 sierra, the fan wouldn't work on 5. gm had a curtisy recall, they had to replace a resistor, at no charge, last week. Ask your dealer about any recall for this with your vehicle.

the evap system is the vapor control of gasoline in the fuel tank it runs the whole length of the truck involving a vapor canister and vent control valves and purge valves of course hoses also.

I think this is for an oil level sensor. Should be easy to change , or a shop can do it for a nominal charge. The dealerships will want more.

2006 gmc canyon 3.5 inline 5 cyl.

Not much of a vacuum diagram on this vehicle. Uses vacuum mainly for the EVAP system ( not a good source). Best bet would be to use a source that stems directly from the intake manifold. Good luck
