If it's anything like seats in GM's there is only one motor for each "function". They use a small gear box, with shafts and gears to distribute the movement to both sides of the seat. You will see a few motors under the seat also. Depending on how they made them, the recline motor may be under there too.

The cost will vary, and that's only IF a replacement part is available. Sometimes you have to get awhole new seat (some leather Caddy seats are close to $2500 EACH - ouch). You can always scour ebay (just do a search for "concorde seat" - theres actually a guy selling the entire lower rail assembly as i'm writing this)

Some seats have a factory unzippable cover. This may or may not allow you access to poke around in there.

I would check for any obstruction caught up in the pivot of the seat or near the area where the shafts / gears meet the tilt mechanism. It could be anything really, but coins tend to be the majority of the culprits! I've found that trying to lay on your head to find them is a pain, and you always miss something. It's easier to unplug the power to the seat, take out the 4 bolts, and turn the seat upside down in the driveway and shake out whatever is caught up in it.

This is a common CD changer we see in shop for repair, see However, before thinking of repair, disconnect one of the main car battery terminals for several minutes then reconnect. This is easier then removing the stereo and reinstalling and acts as a reset for the changer. Otherwise, repair.

Most likely you have a bad TWICE unit. it is located under the driver's seat, at a low point in the floor and often gets wet.

How do I fix a driver's seat that has come off track?

Usually the track is bolted to the floor. Remove the track and seat from vehicle so you can see what is going on, to fix. Just my opinion.

Driver seat wont move back

Of course they do not have to buy the seat. You can remove the seat and some tracks bolt to the bottom which you can replace with a good used one for less than half the $$$ .

Need my seat to move another inch back after it is fully back, anat the back stop.

With electric seats youmay be able to reset the limit stop for the electrics but I am guessing you will have to lengthen the track part of the seat fitment

1999 ford windstar. Drivers seat will move about 1 inch. dont see anything in the tracks. What is the problem?

Check the track closely as Ford uses these little plactic end caps for the tracks and they often come loose and can become stuck in the seat track.

Does the electrical motors on Chevrolet Silverado bucket seats have an electric brake that can be adjusted to keep the seats from moving back and forth freely about an inch?

no. this just happens from wear over time. only proper fix is to replace seat track. if the seat is wear you want it and no reason to move you might can put a screw in the track to jam it in place. these tracks are expensive new one option is to check with salvage yard

We had this problem numerous time (luckily while under an extended warranty) our local dealer tried fixing it many times, they even put a heavier motor under the seat. After one repair the seat motor stopped working within 2 miles. My husband turned around stayed out in the shop and helped the mechanic discover that when the seat went back at a certain point, the wire under the drivers seat was routed so that it traveled into the seat track and back out, when it went into the track it got pinched and shorted out. (you CAN NOT tell if this has happened by looking under the seat, the wire will NOT still be trapped in the seat track or severed, at a certain point the wires traveled into and then back out of the track causing a main wire to short out (wires are harnessed under the drivers seat which control movement in both seats). The solution - a new wire harness was installed and the wires had to be routed differently to prevent this from happening. The repair only took a few minutes the wire harness had to move over about three inches and the wires got ties to hold them out of the way. That was three years ago and so far this has not been a problem again. Hope this helps, or gives you some place to start looking.

The power seat works in all directions except when sliding forward and back, it only slides on the track next to the door. The track next to the console does not budge. There is no obstruction. The doors...

This doesnt make sense mechanically unless the actual bearing is seized on the console side. the only real way to attempt fixing this is to pull the seat out and dissasemble the track and adjustments. pull it apart and make sure the motors are working right and the bearings arent seized and the tracks are clear.
