The correct term is not 'skipping', it's missing....as in misfiring. Misfiring of the spark plugs can be caused by a few different things.
The engine's timing could not be correct. It could be caused by too much fuel being injected into that particular cylinder....or it could be that a compression ring on the misfiring cylinder is broken. Misfiring could also be caused by a short in a spark plug wire.
I would start first by identifying which cylinder is suspect.
You can start the car & remove one spark plug wire at a time. Listen closely if removing that wire makes the engine run rougher. Replace each spark plug wire before you move on to the next one. This will prevent you from 'crossing the wires', eg, placing the wrong spark plug wire on the wrong cylinder.
If you do not hear any appreciable difference in the running of the engine when you remove a wire, that particular spark plug wire might have a break in it.
Also....very important.....are you sure you installed the correct spark plugs and you tightened them down 1/4 turn past their making contact with the head?
Did you install the spark plugs one at a time and remove only that spark plug wire, so there could be no way to cross the wires?
If you did not cross the wires & installed the correct plugs & after removing them one at a time, with the engine running you determined that they all are firing.....take it to a mechanic....

Injector could be restricted, power to the injectors, ignition coils and burnt valves among several other things can cause missing.

SOURCE: 2000 lincoln ls V6 the car is skipping bad.Just

Questions! Did you gap the plugs? Have you put the right wires to the right plugs? Also make sure the wires are fully seated on the plugs & check the firing order to make sure wires are in the right place. Good luck, hope this info helps. If so feel free to recommend this advice, Thanks!

2000 ranger missfires on number6 , runs good over 2000 rpms

It's still misfiring. The engine is running to fast for the computer to pick it up. Pull the plug wire on 6 , start the truck. look for spark out of the wire. No spark, replace the coil pack. Spark, pull the plug, see if it is fouled out. I would do a compression test also, while the plug is out.

I have a friend who owns a bmw 323i that is a 2000 and it is skipping and he like to know what could cause this problem to make his car act like this..

I would start by giving the car a tune up. New spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel filter, and air filter. Usually a car skipping is caused by needing new spark plug wires and spark plugs.
