SOURCE: mitsubishi eclipse convertiable timing belt change?

Typical timing belt intervals are every 60k miles. It's a very involved service to do the whole job - timing belt, timing belt tensioner, serpentine or accessory belts, water pump, thermostat, spark plugs, all fluids, all filters, brake and suspension inspection, and tire rotation. On many cars it's recommended to change the oxygen sensors as well. Quite a bit of this can be done when you want, but the first five items are critical and should all be done. And regardless of whether your manufacturer says the coolant is "lifetime", replace it - don't reuse coolant. It's cheap and it's good practice to use new coolant.

2001 GT Eclipse Spyder..cranked this morning, both drive belts broke, harmonic balancer came apart..replaced balancer, belts, now it won't fire. I did find a piece of one of the drive belts intertwined in the timing belt. Thing is absolutely not getting any fire.

My 1991 mitsubish eclipse runs fine most of the time but stops running at random every so often like turning off the key

I sounds like a coil is getting hot and causing low voltage to the spark plugs and causing it to shut down. Or... it could be the on board computer. Ever get it wet under the hood? Water causes lots of problems.

2003 Mitsubish Eclipse GST Spyder alarm goes off for no reason at all. If you hit the unlock button it quits, but it might go off again at some random time.

I HAVE A SPYDER ALSO. ALTHOUGH, I HAVE NEVER HAD THAT ISSUE, THE ONLY WAY I COULD GET THE ALARM TO STAY OFF WITHOUT GOING OFF AGAIN IS BY INSERTING THE KEY INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. THAT RESETS IT PROPERLY.
