SOURCE: tps voltage high

is the tps adjustable on set screws? is something holding the throttle plate open a bit? throttle bore gummed up? a normal tps sweep is about .6 with throttle closed and about 5 volts wide open throttle(key on/engine off) 2nd check for vacuum leaks. what about mass airflow readings?

05 Buick Rendezvous Coolant temp Gauge jump from 1/2 to 3/4 and back have replace sensor & dash gauge & Thermostat. scan system no code & data from scaner show temp of engine changes normally.

Gauge is probably driven by computer and not the output from the temperature sensor and so gauge reading does not have a direct relationship with the actual engine temperature.

Generic obd2 scanner will read data/faults that can affect the exhaust emissions, which a computer driven gauge will not. Dealer/manufacturer level bi-directional software would be needed for in-depth inspections of all non-emission related systems.

Idles erratic. at 4000 rpm drops back and forth to 3500 rpm

Last time serviced? Any error codes? I'd say fuel delivery system. Are you sure you have gas inspite of the gage?

What causes gas gauge to register incorrectly on a 2003 Buick rendezvous?

Common issue for Rendezvous is a faulty fuel sending unit, sometimes referred to as a fuel module (fuel pump, pump filter, float, sending unit, all sold together as a preassembled unit). Go to your local auto parts store. Most have a scanner/code reader that they can connect to your vehicle to download any fault codes.

Tachometer drops low

vacuum leak usually increases rpm--the electrics got hurt from overheat--hav a data stream run-displays values of evry component-so u kno what parts are bad----private mechanic not a dealer- a scanner that uses factory gear not a 30$ tool sold in stores--the vehicle computer may hav an issue-a readout wont disclose it--so disconnect batt n see if problem clears or pull plug on computer and clean the pins--may reboot
