Oil being a quart low is not the problem. 160,000 miles is the problem. Give it up!

Knocking is a bad sign. You may have worn crank bearings that are causing loss of pressure.

No if the oil light has flickered you have oil pressure loss some time just belive the sensor do help us out. lifter do not cause oil pressure loss pressure is built in the rotation of the crankshaft. The knock under the plenum will point you to that cylinder that is affected, (main bearing) as for a 1995 the injectors can only cause a misfire but no knocking noise, will they honor the warranty

Loud knocking coming from the bottom end and now loss of power sludge build up i have changed oil normal every 2500-3000 miles with synthetic and slick fifty.

the engine probably has a bad bearing in it.oil sludge can be caused by short trip driving, overheating, pluged crank case vent or pcv system not working.the power loss due to the computer retarding ignition timeing due to the knock sensor producing a signal from the engine knock.regardless an ongine ocerhaul or replacement is neede.
but first make sure that the bell housing bolts, torque converter bolts are all tight.
make sure the knock isnt from the catalytic converter
check for dents in the oil pan
check engine accessorys for noise such as water pump.power steering pump,alternator,a/c compressor.and all attachment bolts

Camry engine knock and loss of power

If it is a true engine knock then it is likely oil starvation or piston slap. Some folks hear "pinging" as engine knock but this is actually mistimed detonation in the cylinder caused by low octane or bad timing or other related tune factors.

06FORD F150 KNOCKING ENGINE

STOP DRIVING IT UNTIL YOU DETERMINE WHERE THE PROBLEM IS!

If the oil pressure dropped and then the knocking started very shortly after that, your engine is receiving NO lubrication or cooling from the circulation of the oil.
Your engine will seize and cost a ton more than it must if you continue to drive it.

What you are hearing is most likely rod bearings and the rattle comes when they no longer have a cushion of oil to keep the metal parts from hammering each other.

Either you have a catastrophic oil leak and have lost most of your oil or your oil pump has failed - the latter is very unusual in a truck only a couple of years old unless it is high mileage already - 100,000 miles/160,000 km or more.

If you are not famliar enough to know NOT to drive it, you won't be repairing that yourself either.
