First check the fuse and then use a test light to see if there's power coming in and going out of the latch switch. If there's no power to the switch then the fuse is bad or there's a short in the wire from the fuse box to the switch. If there's power to the switch but the light doesn't light up on the other post when you press the button, then replace the switch, If the switch is good then check power at the lock (unplug the plastic connector and probe both terminals with the test light while a helper presses the latch button). Sometimes spraying contact cleaner on door lock and hatch switches will fix the problem. And cleaning electrical grounds and wire connectors with either steel wool, wire brush or sand paper will often get old electrics working again.
