SOURCE: Interior Carpet Getting Wet

It sounds like a plugged drain line from the air conditioner. Most cars now run in the a/c mode whenever u turn on the climate control (even when heat is on). The passenger side front is where it would be wet, and the carpet and carpet pad act like a sponge and will soak up the water. Let me know how u make out.

SOURCE: Front passenger side carpet getting wet

The AC evaporator units have a drain hose that runs through the floor because condensed moisture is a fact of life with AC units. Yours is plugged. You will have to get under the vehicle and look for the hose where it comes out, then take like coat hanger wire and clean it out, It is somewhere in the vicinity of where the passenger foot well meets the fire wall. If you have to raise the vehicle to get under it, make certain you have it safely supported. If you don't have the stuff, drive the passenger side wheels up on a good curb and use some cardboard to slide under.

SOURCE: Wet floor on driver side only; Prevelant after heavy rain

I had a similar problem, water running off windshield down drain hole only came in when parked with front lower than rear. A hole used to route a wire to engine compartment from driver side through rear of fender allowed water to come in. Remove rear fender liner fastners from left front fender pull liner away without fully removing it and look for hole leading into cabin. Plug it with deaft sealer.
My 2001 had a wire for an alarm system routed through hole, but dealer who sold me car as used felt he could not leave an non factory alrm system in place DUH!

SOURCE: water leading into car between the firewall and

I was getting a drip into the passenger side footwell. It got worse as time went on. I started looking at the coolant hoses from the engine into the firewall which provide heated coolant to the heater core. One of the hoses was cracked at the firewall causing the coolant to leak down into passenger footwell. Rather than continue to deal with smell and flood into cab I simply looped the hose from the engine back to the other input and bypassed the heater core entirely. Now that it's 28F I miss my heat and defrost. So think twice before doing it my way.

On my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the passenger side front floor, after a rain has water standing . The Jeep has never been wrecked and never had the windshield replaced.

A simple test is to feel around the carpet in that footwell. See how far up under the dash the carpet is wet. Does it only happen after rain? Do you have a sun roof fitted?
If the carpet is only wet low down on the floor the most likely reason is either a perished or damaged door seal rubber, a faulty sun roof seal or the drain channels for the sun roof are clogged up. Check the footwell in the back as water always flows and settles at the lowest point in the vehicle.
If it is high up and nearest the middle of the dash you issue could be the heater matrix under the dash but as it seems to be only on one side this might not be the issue.
Door seals are a simple case of pull the old one off and push the new one on and they don't cost silly money to buy. Heater matrix issues, unfortunately, usually involve taking the whole dashboard out to get to it.
Hope this helps.

Can anyone pass on some advice concerning my 2008 Highlander leaks when it rains. I recently noticed that whenever it rains the carpet on the driver side gets soaked. I took it to the dealer and they...

Had similar on 02 Highlander. Source was leak from around window trim (rust) and roof racks connector entering and going down the windshield post behind the trim. Gently remove interior plastic trim piece to the left of the windshield to investigate any water coming down behind there. Find source, disassemble whatever is required and use something like SupraExpert to seal (not just cheap silicone).

I have a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder and the driver side floorboard gets wet under the carpet when it rains. I have had the car for 5 months and it never happened until now when there is more rain. I assume...

It's possible that the seal around the windshield is leaking and the water is trickling in behind the dash area where it is very difficult to see. These leaks can be very difficult to pinpoint and often I've just had to eliminate every other possibility first before finally pulling the glass to find the exact source of the leak. It's a bit of a job but if you can't find the leak then try removing the carpet, insulating pad, and seats completely from the front, dry off the floor, then have someone sit inside with a bright flashlight looking for a leak while you run water over the doors, windows, windshield, and sunroof [if equipped] and you'll most likely find the culprit. It's also a good idea to get the carpet fully dried out so it doesn't get musty and smelly plus it will eventually cause the floor to rust if left wet. Good luck, hope you find your leak!

Seat Alhambra 1996 1.9L water leak drivers footwell

the water can travel along surfaces or beams in the car so you cannot tell where it is actually leaking. in my ford windstar water leaked in right over the fuse box. it ran along a cross beam from the passenger side. if it has those plastic strips they use to go in between small gaps in the metal... like along the roof where the roof is and the metal of the sides joins it is likely they are leaking. best to take a garden hose and have someone inside the car with a flashlight on the floor looking for leaks
