Starter went out having trouble finding a starter that will bolt up. Tried 2 starters already the holes in the replacement starters dont line up. Car is a 1990 Buick Skylark.

that must not be original motor maybe. I'm sure there can only be two or three diff motors. take old one in with you and pull all avail starters for that car and match it up.

You seem to have a bad head gasket. Check the exhaust, while running,to see if white smoke is
pouring out.Get it checked out ASAP,since you don't
want to severely damage the engine any further.
Good luck.

My car doesnt have an tachometer but i think it runs really low.

Say did you check to see if there is a vacuum line running to the transmission ? if there is follow it and make sure its connected on both ends this might be your problem with shifting hard .. It is connnected to your vacuum modulator and it controls the smooth shift.. Also if this line were off it would make your car run crappy .. Say check all vacuum lines on your car to see if they are good and no cracks.. after all the car is 19 years old now and time for those to crack and fall off.. thanks and holler if you need more Jerry

I have a 1990 Buick Skylark, I am having problems with it backfiring in the throttle body and also have low gas mileage. I am only getting about 13 miles to the gallon. I have changed to plugs and wires....

What motor does it have? If it is the quad four, you probably need to replace everything under the cover. If it is the 2.5, check your firing order/timing.
