If you have 4cyl then 205/60R15 or 215/50R16 tire sizes could be a reliable option for you. Otherwise, you can also add your vehicle model year and other details here https://alltyres365.co.uk/ to find the exact option as well. On the other hand, if you are the owner of 99 Mercury Cougar V6 you can also go with 215/45R17 if your optional wheel's diameter is 17". However, it is better to add all of your vehicle details at the recommended tire site and they would suggest you the right tire in this regard.

Sounds like a tire problem. Swap both front tires side to side and see if the pull goes to the other side.

Brake problems

Did you try a big hammer to the inside of the tire. It is very common for aluminum wheels to stick on steel hubs from corrosion.

Open the front drivers door... or the passenger side front door... there should be a sticker there indicating correct tire sizes as well as pressures.

I need to know the correct tire size for a 1999 mercury cougar v6 please

I do Believe that they are 225/65/15's Do you have the Original Tires now???? If so They have the Size right on the Tire. The Letters and Writing are in Black But, If you take a Piece of Chalk and Highlight the Writing you can read it better. The writting is right on the Side of the Tire.
