A 2006 Ford Should not need rebuild, unless it was run completely out of fluid. What are your symptoms? Is it a manual or automatic? Do you pull a heavy trailer? Did you Change the trans. filter at 60,000 miles? Mr. Transmission has them on the shelf, but very expensive.

It is not impossible... but I would expect the rebuild kits to at least match...

Vehicle keeps going in limp mode and the codes all read something with the throttle body or coils. I replaced the throttle body but still won't come out of limp mode

Ford explorer wont go in to gear transfer case is making noise and the tranmission fluid is not burnt

the transfer case has a chain in it if the chain is worn out it will make all kinds of noises time to rebuild

the only cheap fix for an aod tranny is to buy one in a junk yard and put it in yourself...Any 4x4 tranny/transfer with od will cost over a grand to rebuild and some will run about 2K...

Does a ford Explorer 1998 Tranmission have a Gear Box.

ALL fords have a tranmission weather its a AUTO -MATIC or a MANUAL.
Even a 1929A Model ford had a 3 speed g/box.
BUT what is your Question about the /and what type of Gear Box.
