I mixed up my spark plug wires in my Farmall H Tractor. I need a diagram to tell me how to properly connect them to the distributor

Didn't say how many cylinders but here is one way
remove the rocker cover and plugs
turn the engine over untill no 1 cylinder valves have clearance under the rockers
put the ht lead in the cap that faces the rotor button turn engine over until you see the next set of rockers with clearance that will be the next ht lead to go in n the next spot facing the rotor button it may be no 5 if 6 cylinder or 3 if 4 cylinder keep turning for each next set of free rockers and you will come back to no 1
if 4 cyl may be 1342 or 1243
for a 6 cylinder it is most likely 153642

Could be one of several things. Check your spark plugs and distributor/rotor first off. If the distributor cap has lines inside it, or gray deposits on the inside terminals replace both it and the rotor. I highly recommend NGK Iridium spark plugs... put them in and forget about spark plug issues for 60K miles! Be careful when removing the distributor cap to unplug one wire at a time and place each wire in the proper place on the new cap each time, so you don't get them mixed up. Check your air filter and vacuum the dirt that sits underneath the filter to help it last longer. Changing air filters once a year is recommended to make sure your engine can breathe properly. Look at your vacuum line diagram under the hood and trace every connection making sure there are no unplugged lines or holes,

You can google the engine size and "firing order" to get a drawing or photo of the firing order online.

We pulled and replaced spark plugs and distributor cap on a 1985 Nissan Z24 Engine - started once before without cap on but now will not fire again. I need firing settings for distributor and knowlege of...
It started without the distributor cap? That is impossible. I suspect you may have plug wires mixed up. Make sure it is wired as the diagram shows. Also replace the rotor. clay58_39.png

remove the spark plug wires one by one.. remember the connection from no. 1 spark plug to the distributor. the wire from the coil is connected to the center of the distributor.

1987 GMC Jimmy Distributor cap and Rotor replacement
A diagram may not be needed as its a reasonably easy fix to do on your own.the distributor ca p will only fit on properly one way because at the base of the cap locaters can only fit the distributor if they line up.When doing the spark plug leads do them one at a time and if nessecary write or mark leads as 1,2 etc .The rotor can only fit on one way but put a mark on the distributor to show where the rotor was pointing when you took it off and if it still points there when the new one is fitted.When changing distributor cap and leads they have to go to the correct place.Pays to mark the outside of distributor cap where the locating bits are On the new and old one.Fit the new cap and rotor then take a spark plug lead and fit to new cap 1 at a time.You can tell by lining up the marks on the outside of the distributor cap when you hold them one on top of the other.Good luck

On the 3.2L distriburorless ignition, the firing order is a straight 1-2-3-4-5-6.

2006 HHR 2.4L Was given to me not running. Previous owner drove car without 50 amp fuse at battery. They cut the fuse out and straight wired it.Drove it until it laid down. What kind of damage could that have caused. Just need to know before I fix it or scrap it. Thanx
