Question about Chevrolet HHR

HHR LT 2009.Warning lights When I turn the ignition to on but not start the car the warning lights that are suppose to briefly come on to show they work never come on. What could be the problem?

I recently bought the car so I am not sure how long they have been out. The seat belt light and the brake light that shows the emergency brake is engaged does come on.

Defective ignition starter switch

That light is the stability control warning. If the vehicle was subject to any loss of traction or side skid, the light will go out on its own after a number of ignition starts. If this is the result of bad alignment, you have to have it put on an alignment rack. It could also be a wheel speed sensor that is not working right.

DTC C0550 00: EEPROM Checksum Mismatch . Your best bet , take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop.
Circuit/System Description
When the ignition is turned ON, the microprocessor runs a diagnostic program to detect an internal fault when power up is commanded. If an internal malfunction is detected, the control module will store a DTC C0550 in its memory.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets
If equipped, the following module specific actions may occur:
• The antilock brake system (ABS) indicator turns ON.
• The BRAKE warning indicator turns ON.
• The electronic brake control module (EBCM) disables the ABS/dynamic rear proportion (DRP)/traction control system (TCS).
• The driver information center (DIC) displays the power steering warning message No Steering Assist.
• The TCS indicator turns ON.

I'm having problems with my 2008 Chevy HHR - acting up but no dashboard warning lights showing. Please see details below for a full description of what's happening.
Most likely sensor connections and signal delivery to ECU. Road salt creates corrosion problems in connections. Start with a very careful visual inspection of all wiring from sensors and their connections. Double check connections of Throttle position
sensor. that may not have a good connection even though it was?
replaced. There may be some relationship with speedometer and ECU. Fuel supply system may be a problem. Fuel pump, Fuel pressure regulator, Fuel pump relay. can cause erratic behavior.

I'm having strange problems with my 2008 Chevy HHR LT - no dashboard warning lights come on and the installation of a new throttle body did not solve the problem (see details below).
sounds your variable valve timing solenoids are going out there easy to replace their on the top passenger side of engine you do have to remove the air filter resonator tube to see them, replace the intake and exhaust solenoid at the same time

2009 HHR won't start. Battery is good.
Is the security light on or blinking?If not then do you have power to the starter.You can check this with a test light.You should have power when you turn the key to start.The test light should light up.Should be the small wire.I believe it is purple in color.If the security light is on then you will have to get the codes to see what is causing the no start.Hope this helps.Good luck.

on a Suzuki , Your vehicle is equipped with Speed Sensitive Power Steering (SSPS).
This is a computer-controlled power steering assist system.
The warning light you are describing will come on briefly when you turn the ignition to ON as a check to show you the bulb is working.
Then it should go out after a few seconds. If the warning light does not come on, have it fixed so it will be able to warn you if there is a problem.
If the warning light stays on, or comes on while you are driving, the SSPS system may not be working.
Your computer will need to be scanned to determine what the problem is with your SSPS system.

My 2009 HHR won't start when I turn the ignition over. It makes a clicking sound and all of my panel lights to light up. I then depressed the brake pedal and turned the ignition and the vehicle started....
starter solenoid bang on the starter wiggle the red battery wire or clean battery clamps or need new battery
