SOURCE: Hi wite smoke from the exoust wen under compresion and then exalarate it is gone . have done the rings ,velve stem seals and turbo kit and stil smoking .

It is common to see white exhaust smoke when first starting a car, especially on cooler days. This is generally steam caused by condensation. As the engine warms up and the condensation dissipates the white exhaust smoke (steam) is no longer seen. If you still see white smoke when the engine is warmed up then you probably have coolant leaking into the combustion chamber. Possible causes are warped head, blown head gasket or cracked block. Do you have unexplained coolant loss?
Good luck.

How do you replace a coil on a 1999 Volvo V70 XC 2.4L

Hi,

The ignition coils are 1 per cylinder.
You need to remove the center timing cover and then the coil cover, there you will see the coils under the cover on each cylinder.

Hope this helped.

Thanks

My blower on my 1998 volvo v70 xc is not blowing

The most common problem is either the blower motor or the speed control resistor. Both items can be accessed by removing the glove box and panel below it.

My 99 volvo xc is blowing thick white, bluish

This is not good. White smoke is usually coolant, but the deposits on the plugs indicates oil related issue. Major exploritory surgery is in your future.

Start with a leak down test, and based on the results of that, your next step will be more clear.

Sorry for the bad news, but you already knew that, with the smoke report.

What is the size of a Volvo v70 engine?

There are 3 engine choices in the 98 volvo v70. All are 5 cylinders, 1. 2.3L turbo
2. 2.4L MFI DOC
3.2.4L Turbo
#2 is the most common engine for that year and model. If your engine doesn't have a turbo, that's the one u have.

Volvo V70 xc AWD '98 - fuel filter change

Brandonlo168,

The fuel filter can be located under the carpeted cargo storage floor at the rear of the wagon. Remove the four 10mm bolts, remove the cover. You will then see a removeable plate to the right just behind the rear passenger seat. Fuel filter can be seen through hole in hole. Replaced from underneath wagon. Be sure to make sure lines are fully inserted onto filter. Check for leaks. No smoking, extinguisher handy. Note arrow on filter for correct fuel flow.
