My first question would be, what was the original trouble code that directed the mechanic to replace the sensors ? You seldom need more than one O2 sensor at a time. Its possible the exhaust manifold is leaking and that might cause a problem that would turn on the warning light. Or it could be something else. A valve cover gasket will leak oil if it fails. No check engine light.
Most common are valve cover gaskets worn out...especially the inline 6 cylinder...inspect the oil pressure sending unit located beside the oil filter...these are the most common and least costly fixes...Hope this helps.
Need to know what type of leak? Motor oil or Transmission oil ?
Where is it leaking from Rear main gasket, Valve cover gasket(s), cam or crak shaft seal, oil pan gasket. etc The I'll give you a price
You did everything correctly "by the book", but I add one thing...Once the orininal application has set up, I add another thin layer, then immediately set the cover in place on the engine can't slide it around or wipe it across anything when doing this though or it won't work. I then tighten the cover lightly, wait a couple of hours then re-tighten.Follow a pattern like torquing a cylionder head so it goes down evenly. On yours, did you try just tightening up on it a bit?
it's verry likely your valve cover gasket is leaking. that is one of the first seals to go but it is an easy fix at least. use some gasket sealer or a neopreene gasket the corque gaskets are obsolete and they don't last very long.
valve cover gasket is like $20 and a do it yourself job, just buy a manual like a chiltons from an auto parts store. if it was valve cover, the smoke would be coming from engine, not tailpipe.
rear seal is in between engine and tranny, this would cause oil to leak on ground, but not to burn
if smoke is coming from tailpipe, your piston rings might be going bad. that is an expensive repair, but switching to synthetic oil may give you several more years of life out of the piston rings, synthetic oil has a way of soaking into bad piston rings and temporarily making them like new again, unless they are already too far gone.
