Ok. connect the scanner to the obd11 connector and get data readings, check the rpm's, if turning the engine over and it does not show any rpm's the crankshaf sensor is defective( or the connector) when this sensor is defective
is no spark, and no fuel pump activation,= check this first= no rpm's? no spark? no fuel pressure?
(replace the crankshaft sensor)

Testimonial: "so if i have it correct there will be no spark if the crankshaf sensor is defective. well there is spark.that was one of the first things we look."

OK,check the fuel pressure, is fuel pressure good? check the signal to the injectors, there is good fuel pressure and injectors signal, check for injectors leak(with the fuel gauge connected to check the fuel pressure, the pressure goes down a soon you turn the ignition off you have injector leaking or regulator)

Gasoline direct injection problems on these motors

internet search has reference to GDI no starts or poor running
the gdi sytem had a short life on all makers cars
GDI Engine Complaints Often Mysterious Hard to Resolve

all i know is that the inlet ports can carbon up
and need to be inspected and de carboned

GDI engine concerns:

Higher cylinder temperatures and pressures released into the crankcase accelerate oil vaporization. Eventually this causes oil droplets to coat intake valves.
Cylinder injector spray position means fresh fuel is not sprayed onto intake valves and flush away vapor build up. This build up can accumulate and bake on intake valves in as little as 10,000 miles (16,000 km).
Rings can become stuck into their lands by carbonized oil sludge. This can prevent these engine’s low-tension rings from properly sealing the piston. This also causes sludge, oil, and fuel deposits to bake onto piston tops.
Since inception, GDI engines have had known problems with coking—buildup of cooked fuel deposits that foul injectors.

Gdi 1800 cedia wagon-odometer 80,000km exact, starting, no power

Hi it sounds like your high pressure pump needs replacing. the pump can be repaired but you will have to find someone who knows about it, i fix a lot of them before. there is a spring that pushes out the piston in the pump so it can compress the fuel that spring losses its ability to extract the piston back out. i have pictures of one if anyone wants to see
