Yes on older models there is a sieve at the bottom of the pick up line where the fuel pump is in the engine compartment. So the line going back to the tank after the pump you loosen it and blow it clean towards the tank with fuel cap open
Well if your fuel filter is bad the car will be sluggish and once you locate the filter disconnect the battery and remove the filter and blow into it from the side that faces the gas tank and the fuel inside should blow out and be sooted with a color distortion either gold or black fuel should come out also be sure you have a clean tank as well as fresh gas in it so you don't burn bad gas off in the motor or if you still have old gas in the car run it out and buy some sea foam and run it till it's empty and add new gas in it and put premium gas back in the car with more sea foam and do the refill after you change the filter and reconnect the battery
There is an issue with the vent on the tank. The tank has to let out the air as you put in the gas. This is generally a tube connected to the filler neck. See if it is kinked or clogged.
If you're lucky, the eggs plugged up the fuel filter and did not go any further. At this point, I would have the gas tank removed and cleaned. Also, remove the fuel filter and blow the line out that goes back to the tank and replace the filter.
hi, this a common fault. the bottom of the fuel tank is full of deposits (water, sand, fibres) and will enter the fuel filter (in the fuel tank). there is another fuel filter and fuel pump near the back and underneath the car fuel lines and injectors may be partially blocked called (fuel starvation). can be taken to a garage to blow back the deposits. the best advice drain and to take the tank off and clean it out. adding REDEX can clean the system, but may take time. i hope this is usefull. gerry
