IN 4wd with 3 wheels on the ground the 4th wheel would normally turn in the diff in the side gears but if it is difficult to turn I am thinking that you have a LSD in the front.

will take lots of work because in addition to the obvious like a transfer case and drive shaft plus front diff you will also need a totally new wiring harness and computers
I looked it up and it shows that these engine have diff. sensors to comunicate with computer and possible exhaust and intake are diff.,
check it out, 94 has OBDI the 98 has OBDII
I put the engines next to each other and compair,
94 engines are all by it's self.
98-99 engines are interchangeable
