I don't know if you can get at it from engine compartment? On some vehicles, I safely raise and support the vehicle, then remove passenger side tire to see if it is easier to get at? It just depends on what is the easiest for you? Note, when working under a vehicle there are safety issues, safety is your responsibility.

no you dont need a special tool you have to take the throttle body off it makes it sooooooo much more simple.
SOURCE: transmission
Well ,
If the fluid is dark, burnt , or has metal or dark clutch material.
The transmission has a burnt up clutches ,the sun shell in most cases with this transmission is the cause of failure inside. The sun shell holds the clutches and steels in place . When the sun shell breaks the transmission is loosing pressure inside. Then the clutch are not engaging . This is why the transmission is slipping This is a very common problem with this vehicle. The sensors/ soleniods are located in the valve body of the transmision. There are some cases where a transmission shop can tighten the sun shell or bands. This could be a temporary fix, The best thing to do is have the transmission replaced or rebuilt at your local transmission repair shop

SOURCE: coolant fan temp sensor location on a 2003 chevy venture
located in thermostat housing or in intake nearby (where top hose connects from radiator to engine)

Under intake manifold on top of block, you need to remove intake to access sensors there are two of them you can't miss them when intake is off. After replacing sensors you need a new intake gasket.
