SOURCE: clearing codes for transfer case

There is a simple way really of doing it, you can buy a code reader at auto zone or leave the battery disconnected from the vehicle for about a day. The power storage unit in the ecu will run out and reboot basically. There usually about 150.00 but you can dump the code all day long but if the problem comes up again, the code and check engine light will come back on again.

SOURCE: i need to know what the power drive and winter

The winter drive button gears the transmission down so that it doesn’t spin when you take off from a dead stop in the snow and ice. It only activates by pressing and holding it when at a stop and then accelerating.

Power is for when you are hauling heavy loads. It holds a higher rpm before shifting to next gear giving you best hauling performance.

I would like to know the answer to cindy-lou70's question too. I don't have an owner's manuel for my 98 Rodeo. How do I use the "winter drive button"?

Starts SUV from a "dead stop" in low gear to prevent wheel spin on slick roads like ice for say when you take off, disengages at 30 mph once engaged automatically.
