With the hatch open there are two T-20 torx screws on the tail light that need removed. Tail light should come out unless for some reason someone has sealed it in with a silicon or some other adhesive. May have to pry gently on tail light next to area where screws are removed to pop out tail light. Will have to unplug electrical connection from back remove light from vehicle. 3 tabs on back of tail light to manipulate to remove bulb section.

Thanks for that.I've tried removing the screws on both the rear light assemblies but they feel as though there is some hidden clip somewhere holding them in place.I should have said the vehicle is the Renault Scenic dci Dynamique, year 2011. They are the tall light units and there are light units fitted into the rear hatch as well. Does this make a difference?

HOW DO YOU CHANGE THE REAR TAIL LIGHTS ON A 1998 CROWN VIC?

Access to the tail light cluster should be through panels in the rear corners of the vehicle. Remove the panel and you can remove the tail light cluster to replace the bulbs. This is the position on most sedans, unless, like on pick-ups, the tail light lenses have screws which allow the lenses to be removed to change the bulbs.

How do you replace a fog light bulb on a 2005 hyundai tuscon"?

undo the hatch back {life the tail up as if you were wanting to gain access to the boot ..you will notice on either side both lighting clusters .depending on what side needs replacing .all you have to do it use a size 2 Philips screw driver to remove the black screws holding in the lighting clusters the locate the broken lamp{bulb} then twist the holder half a turn then replace the lamp {bulb} and then refit the cluster ..PLEASE note when you remove the screws you will have to gently ease the lighting cluster away from the body of the vehicle as if you try to rip it of you will damage it .there are two lugs that slide in to the bodywork of the car .make sure that you take a little time to locate them and check that the lighting cluster fits nicely to the vehicle before you replace the screws ..its worth trying the replacement lamp/bulb before you replace the screws ..just in case you have replaced a fault one with a faulty one !!! it can happen .

Replacement of rear outside tail light assembly

If you're asking how do you change a taillight bulb, then follow this procedure:

Open the trunk lid.

Disconnect the connectors from the taillights (taillight bulb connectors are visible by looking inside the trunk at the back of the tail lamps.) There may be an interior trunk trim panel that you have to take off but in most cases its just a series of thumb screws that hold them in.

Brake Lights/Taillights: 21/5 W

Rear Turn Signal Light: 21 W

Back-up Light: 21 W

Rear Side Marker Light: 5 W

Turn the bulb sockets 45 º counterclockwise to remove the bulbs.

If you're removing the taillamps with the bumper off there are 3 nuts and screws that hold the taillight to the rear panel of the car that have to come off from the inside of the trunk.
Remove the nuts and screws, then remove the taillight.

hope that answers your question
