SOURCE: 2005 Golf TDI Diesel - EGR "Emissions workshop" fault light

Hi, The EGR valve itself is on a set of flexible pipework - usually stainless steel - which runs between the inlet manifold and the exhaust manifold. The EGR actuator valve is pneumatically / vacuum operated by a solenoid valve, controlled by the ECU ( aka the brane). It's not usual for the EGR valve itself to fail, more likely the solenoid valve or its electrical connector getting dirty. If you google for VAG TDI N75 valve you should get all the info you could possibly ever need :-)

Hope this helps, D.

SOURCE: vw golf bonnet release

On mine, a RHD, it is a plastic lever just forward of the door post. It is a crappy piece of plastic about four inches long.Mine has recently broken and will result in a bill for about £60-70 for replacing the lever and the cable (the cable is very tight)
Getting the handle off was a hell of a job until someone spotted that inside the handle, on the lower part as accessed from the outside, is a clip that needs to be pulled out to release the handle. Only then could we reach the cable and that took an enourmopus amount of effirt to release the bonnet.
As the mechanic said, "I didn't expect this sort of rubbish from VW"

SOURCE: how do you change battery in key fob on 2002 vw golf

No problem. The key fob is two pieces. The key part and the remote. Open the key as you would to sue it. Where the key flips open you can see a small recess about where the line of the trunck switch. This is where the key separates. You can pull it off or pry it with a small screwdriver. Once separated with remote part in your hand this also splits in 2. In the same area you split the key off insert the screwdriver in this recess and the fob will open giving you access to the battery. Also can be done by hand. It is a little tight so you will have to force which is normal. No screws just clipped. Make sure the battery is positioned in the right way and that you have 3 volts when you test the battery. 2.7 volts will make the remote not work or act funny.

Emissions garage light comes on 2006 VW Jetta 2.0 tdi. engine lacks power and is slow to change up gears (dsg gearbox). I have cleaned the erg valve and refitted. No change

It may be the gas problem?OBD ECU after oil problem is detected automatically set emission reduction, thereby causing emissions warning light is on. Long died can also lead to other serious fault lights appear.

Hi, i've been told the turbo on my 2006 !.8 Golf TDI has blown and need a new one. How much would a new one cost please? Thanks

Best place to start is eBay vw turbos can range from $250.00 to $700.00 but it depends on your model and engine size. You can look up vw golf websites and I believe you can even by them cheaper through club web sites
