Where is the starter relay for a 1998 Infinity Q30 ?

There is nothing that backs up memory. When you disconnect the battery, all memory is lost, which is why it is important not to do it!

You don't tell us the model? Is it a secret? All questions need 'year make model' as the FIRST 3 words.

If your have a 1999 Infinity I30, the ECM Fuse is Fuse 58.

It should be in the power distribution center, under the hood, hopefully, the fuse box cover will show you which fuse and relay is which?

You may not have a starter relay as such.
The Starter usually has a solenoid (a relay of sorts) mounted on it.

Most starter relays are part of the starter motor assembly.
Also known as the solenoid.
(This way it serves 3 purposes.
1. The Relay section uses solid copper Contacts for Less volt drop at the high current that a starter motor draws.
2. The Solenoid section is the Mechanical Plunger that engages the cog to flywheel.
3. The Motor spins because the copper contacts are a super connection supplying 100+ Amps)

Does the battery go direct to the Starter Mptor?
Is there a small wire next to where the Battery connects?
If so then this is the relay activation wire (12v to pull relay in)

If the ignition switch is good and you are certain it works fine,did you realize there is a TSB for this condition when ever you replace a infiniti starter or even some Nissan you are supposed to replace the starter relay also,but it goes further than that you also need to rplace the Throttle control relay with the starter relay.

1998 Mercury Tracer is equipped only with a 2.0L MFI SOHC SPI engine (Multiport Fuel Injection, Single OverHead Cam, Split Port Induction). This vehicle does not use a starter relay. Power from the ignition switch goes through the Clutch Switch (manual transmission) or the Neutral Safety Switch (automatic transmission) then directly to the solenoid at the starter. The solenoid is serviced only as part of the starter assembly. (SEE PICTURE)

Your ignition switch is bad you'll have to replace it. It's the electrical ignition switch not the key tumbler one. Good luck.
