Wiper motors on this car are a very rare failure, so have you jumped 12 volts to the wiper motor and does it work or not, do that before you tear into it. The switch is the more common issue. Also the wiper motor can be tested with a Ford special scan tool called and "NGS", it runs the wiper motor through it's cycles by controlling the BCM..

When i turn my wipers on one will clean the windshield and the other will not move, what do i need to do?

Someone will probably need to remove the wiper arms and the panel between the hood and the windshield to access the linkage coming from the wiper motor.

1996 Mercury Grand Marquis wipers don't work. I changed the motor and the fuse isn't blown

You need to take the plastic cowls off that cover the wiper arm linkage and wiper transmission to inspect it...cowl is held on with 3 Phillips screws near windshield and some one inch wide metal clips, take off the gasket that fits on top. If both are not working check the transmission where linkages attach, if one wiper blade is not working it is usually the drivers side where the nylon bushing that forns a ball/socket sort of connection fails due to build up of debris and the rusting of parts that follows, let me know if this helps.

Windshield wipers parks to the left not right

A lot of the times this problem occurs when the moters are replaced and wired backwards. If you've had them replaced, or if you just bought the car, check the wiring to the motors to make sure it's done correctly.

Where is windshield wiper motor for 1992 mercury grand marquis

1992-98 Vehicles
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the rear hood seal. Remove the wiper arm assemblies by raising the wiper blade off the windshield. Move the slide latch away from the pivot shaft and slowly lower the arm onto the latch. This unlocks the arm from the pivot shaft and holds the blade off the glass. Pull the arm from the pivot shaft.
  3. Remove the cowl vent screws and disconnect the washer hoses from the washer jets.
  4. Detach the electrical connectors from the wiper motor.
  5. Remove the wiper assembly attaching screws, lift the assembly out and disconnect the washer hose.
  6. Unsnap and remove the linkage cover.
  7. Remove the wiper module assembly retaining bolts and remove the module from the vehicle.
  8. Remove the linkage retaining clip from the motor operating arm by lifting the locking tab and pulling the clip away from the pin.
  9. Remove the motor retaining screws and remove the motor from the vehicle.
  10. The installation is the reverse of the removal.

1996 Mercury Grand Marquis - wipers will not work. Have check multifunctional switch and motor. Both ok.

if motor and switch are ok and the motor is running, then it's the ball joints on the arms that have become disconnected underneath the windshield in the firewall vicinity. Also, the wiper arms could be stripped out.

Trying to find windshield wiper motor. Where is it

remove wiper arm and check splines on wiper motor or splines on wiper arm for damage if damaged replace. Sometimes arms are just installed with a nut and this nut over time becomes loose check tightness.

Wiper speed control for a '97 Mercury Grand Marquis. What causes the wiper to work on high speed only?

Intermittent wiper control stopped working on my 1996 GM last spring. I ended up replacing the wiper motor ($100.00 part). Since I have found it on Amazon for $58 including shipping. It works fine now. Only bad part was all the "stuff" that has to come out (like dead leaves!) to get to the wiper motor. Also make sure you have your wipers in the down position when you replace the motor.
