Tools needed and intructions on removing rear bumper on a Ford Escape 2007 xlt

Feel the heater hoses that go to the heater core under the hood. With the engine warmed up, both hoses should be hot. If not, I would think you have a plugged up heater core.

Pop the Hatchback open and remove the connectors
from the top of the bumper cover.

Optional Step: Using a Floor Jack, raise both sides
of the car in the back, supporting both sides with
jack stands, and remove the rear wheels.

Using Torx Bits, remove the inner rear wheel well
lining.

Get behind the rear wheel well and loosen the bolts
holding the bumper brackets on. They're pretty
difficult to find and remove. Be Patient. Do the
same to the other side.

Remove the rear bumper cover by pulling the cover
outward from the part nearest the wheel on both
sides. Once removed, take off the 2 black mounting
brackets from the bumper cover.

If your car has a cord, you will see it in one of the front plugs or you will find it wounded up behind the bumper or top of the fuse compartment.

In order to replace the rear main seal you will need some auto repair tools and experience . this is a big job , the transmission must be removed to replace this seal, also make sure that the seal is the leak,

oil always flows down, a leak on the top of the engine will flow down and drip at the center rear and look like a rear main seal , make sure that is the leak!!.

Depending on what engine you have and if it has 4 wheel drive the time for a shop to do is from 7 to 10 hours depending on engine size and 4wd,

You will need to remove the whole front bumper then seperate the top and bottom.

possibly bent frame, but may only be bent bumper or tow package mounts.

if there is some one in your area that balances driveshafts they can change just the bearing for you

the bumpers could be worn from a lot of use but on a 05 i doubt it. there should be adjustment on the reciever 'post, joe
