I have lost the key to my 2001 Daewoo leganza. Can I just change the ignition cylinder for a used one that is for that make and model that has the key or is there more to it than that? Any suggestions

Go to the dealership with your photo ID, registration, and title to the car. Using that information, you can prove who you are, and that you are the owner of the car, and they can use the VIN number of the car (on the title and registration) to look up the key code for your car. Then they can cut you a new one using a master key for that key code.

Hi.
If the idler pulley, broke, with the car running, (I think is the most probable), There is no way to fix the car just replacing the timing belt and the idler pulley. This is an interference engine, that means if the timing belt or the idler pulley breaks, you need to replace the whole cylinder head, that's because the valves are bent. I just fix my daewoo, I tried first to just change the idler pulley and set up the time, but it did not work. I had to replace the whole head cylinder, timing belt and pulleys.

I got the information to set up the timing belt from a Library, The program is Mitchell on demand.

big problem ,give dealer copy of papers which show your name on them,your idenity card to prove who you are and they will order a new key (get two) then they have to be programmed into the car

hi this is how you do it
first off make sure the alarm system is off then put the key to be programed into the ignition turn ignition on then off within 5 seconds this is then in program mode press the lock or unlock button 3 times within 20 seconds and then the central locking should start working indicating the remote is now programed...hope this helps please vote thanks
