99 eclipce key wont turn ukless i rock car back and forth

try gently rocking the steering wheel back and forth while trying to turn the key. The park brake should be used when parking on any incline to avoid this type of problem

have you tried jiggling the steering wheel back and forth while you turn the key.

try turning the steering wheel back and forth. it wont move much but most of the time that is why the ignition sticks. report back if that doesnt work

try squirting some WD 40 or similar lubricant in beside the key and give it a few minutes to work then try wriggling the key and pulling it
Also try rocking the steering wheel back and forth while trying to remove the key
If this doesnt work the only other option is to have the Ignition switch replaced

you have the sign of teeth missing off the flywheel, if it spins when you try cranking it over then thats your problem. Could be safety netural switch but rocking it back and forth should not make a difference.

hi, can you hear a clicking noise when you turn the key to start as the starter gets its power direct from the battery so also check these wires are connected and not came loose.
If you can hear a clicking noise when you turn the key this means the starter motor needs replacing ok.

Try having someone rock the car frontwards and backwards, while you rock the steering wheel back and forth and try to turn the key - it sounds like you're jammed up hard against the steering column lock.
