Question about Lincoln Cars & Trucks
No. The radio uses the same circuits as the DVD audio to get sound to the speakers. The headphones only divert the audio from the speakers to the headphones.

Turn the key forward a notch then it should come out. If you are turning the key all the way off it enables the accessories (radio etc), locks the key in the ignition and disables the gear shifter.
If thats not the case then there is a button to be depressed so that the key can turn anticlockwise>off another click and the key can be removed.
It'll be one or the other....faulty ignition lock is the only other diagnosis

SOURCE: How do I remove and
Removing the stereo will require a set of removal jigs, they are inexpensive and available at any auto-parts store. Once it is out you will likely have to take to a audio video repair shop for testing and repair, it will probably be more cost effective to install a new aftermarket deck.
Hope this is of some help.
