It does indeed have keyless entry. It needs reprogramming when you get a new remote. Also if you disconnect the battery. Usually a local car alarm fitting shop, or an auto-electrician will do it. Plus of course a Ford dealership.
Remote Transmitter Programming
NOTE: All keyless entry remote transmitters must be programmed at the same time. NOTE: Programming (or reprogramming) the keyless entry remote transmitters into the central security module can be accomplished using a diagnostic tool or by carrying out the following steps.
Turn the ignition switch from OFF to RUN eight times within 10 seconds, ending in RUN. If the module has successfully entered program mode, it will lock and then unlock all doors.
Within 20 seconds, press any button on a keyless entry remote transmitter, and the doors will lock and then unlock to confirm that each keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed. Repeat this step for each transmitter.
If the door locks do not respond for any keyless entry remote transmitter, wait several seconds and press the button again. If the door locks still fail to respond, refer to Inspection and Verification.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, or wait up to 20 seconds after Step 2, to exit program mode. If a keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed (or reprogrammed), the doors will lock and unlock one last time to confirm.
try this procedure, close all doors, insert key into ignition switch, press and hold door unlock switch, turn ignition switch from on to off twice, release door unlock switch, doors will lock then unlock to confirm programming mode.now simultaneously press and hold the lock and unlock buttons of the first remote transmitter after approximately 15 seconds doors will lock then unlock to confirm remote transmitter programming. if all fails to work take vechicle to dealership, they will have to use diagnostic equipment to reprogram remote.
reprogram the remote transmitter. first leave driver door open all other doors closed, key removed from the ignition switch. insert key into the ignition switch, then remove it.press lock and unlock on the vechicle door lock control switch at 1 second intervals 5 times. close and repoen drivers door.press lock and unlock on the vechicle lock control switch at 1 second intervals 5 times. insert key into ignition switch. switch ignition on and off twice to program a remote transmitter code whilst erasing the original codes or three timre to check how many remote transmitters are currently registered.remove key from the ignition switch.system should now lock and unlock.twice to indicate programming mode or one to four times, slowly to indicate number of remote transmitters registered.for the solara press and hold lock and unlock remote buttons together, press lock remote button for a second period of 1 second. system should now lock and unlock vechicle.once to confirm, twice to indicate registration has failed.if required repeat button procedure to program remaining remote transmitters.note to exit programming mode close drivers door or insert ignition key.maximum of 4 remote transmitters can be programmed.if akk failed let dealership reprogram remote transmitters.
To reprogram the transmitters yourself, place the key in the ignition and turn from LOCK to OFF and cycle between OFF and ON eight times in rapid succession (within 10 seconds) ending in the ON position. After doors lock/unlock, press any control on all transmitters (up to four). With each control press of the transmitters, the door should cycle (lock/unlock) to confirm programming. When completed, turn the ignition to OFF. The door locks should cycle (lock/unlock) one last time to confirm completion of programming. NOTE:This will not work with command start fobs.
To program ( or reprogram ) a keyless entry remote transmitter into the remote keyless entry module, perform the following steps:
1. Turn the key to ON or ACC and short the two terminals of the program connector, a two-pin connector located below the driver's side of the instrument panel at the base of the steering column. All doors should lock and then unlock. 2. Press any button on each keyless entry remote transmitter in turn. All doors should lock and then unlock. If the door locks do not respond, press the button again (up to three times maximum with the same keyless entry remote transmitter). If the door locks still fail to respond, go to Pinpoint Test A. 3. Repeat Step 2 to program additional keyless entry remote transmitters into the remote keyless entry module (up to four keyless entry remote transmitters maximum). 4. Turn key off. 5. Remove the short from the program connector. All doors should lock and then unlock. 6. Verify that the keyless entry remote transmitters have been successfully programmed by pressing the LOCK or UNLOCK button on each one, and observing that the system responds by locking and/or unlocking the doors.
Try reprogramming the remotes. Here are the instructions for the procedure. Hope it helps. Cobra!
Programming
NOTE: All keyless entry remote transmitters (15K601) must be
programmed at the same time. NOTE: To program (or reprogram) the keyless entry remote transmitters
into the RAP module, perform the following steps:
Make sure that the anti-theft system is not armed or triggered.
Turn the ignition switch (11572) from OFF to RUN eight times within ten
seconds, ending in RUN. If the RAP module has successfully entered program mode,
it will lock and then unlock all doors.
Within 20 seconds, press any button on a keyless entry remote transmitter,
and the doors will lock and then unlock to confirm that each keyless entry
remote transmitter has been programmed. Repeat this step for each
transmitter.
If the door locks do not respond for any keyless entry remote transmitter,
wait several seconds and press the button again. If the door locks still fail to
respond, refer to Inspection and Verification.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, or wait up to 20 seconds after
step 2, to exit program mode. If a keyless entry remote transmitter has been
programmed (or reprogrammed), the RAP module will lock and unlock all doors one
last time to confirm.
Programming Electronic Door Lock Control System
NOTE: The electronic door lock control processor (14B001) erases all
previous keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601) from memory when the keyless
entry remote transmitters are programmed or reprogrammed. The electronic door
lock control processor can store up to four keyless entry remote transmitters in
memory.
To program (or reprogram) keyless entry remote transmitter into the
electronic door lock control processor, perform the following steps:
Turn ignition switch to the RUN position and momentarily short the two
terminals of the program connector taped to the wire assembly and located behind
the glove compartment. All doors should lock and then unlock. Remove shorting
pin.
Press any button on keyless entry remote transmitter. All doors should lock
and then unlock to verify the keyless entry remote transmitter has been
programmed. If door locks do not respond, press button again (up to three times
maximum with the same keyless entry remote transmitter).
Repeat the above step to program additional keyless entry remote transmitters
into the electronic door lock control processor (up to four keyless entry remote
transmitters maximum).
Turn ignition switch OFF. All doors should lock and then unlock.
Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Remove the BCM PRGRM fuse from the fuse panel. Refer to Fuse Block in Wiring Systems.
Close all of the doors.
Close the liftgate.
Turn the ignition lock cylinder to ACC.
Turn the ignition lock cylinder to OFF, and then back to ACC within 1 second.
Open and close any vehicle door. A chime will be heard when the system enters the BCM programming/diagnostic mode.
Important After
7 seconds, a chime may be heard confirming successful synchronization.
It is necessary to wait approximately 14 seconds for a second chime
that will confirm successful programming.
Press and hold the transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 14 seconds.
Repeat the previous step on each additional transmitter to be programmed.
Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Install the BCM PRGRM fuse back into the fuse panel. Refer to Fuse Block in Wiring Systems.
Transmitter Programming:
1)With the driver door closed, hold down the power unlock button on the door panel. 2)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position 3)Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position 4)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position 5)Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position 6)Release the power unlock button on the door panel. control door lock reciever will respond in the following manner:
7.1)Locking the doors 7.2)Unlocking the doors Repeat step 7 for each additional transmitter 9) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position in order to exit the transmitter programming mode.
There...
your little GM secret is finally known... Now can someone out there
start posting these program codes for the rest of us! Hope this
helps....
This is why it don't work. This is one you need a
scan tool for. Stupid Idea. The procedures are different for each car,
and model year, the one mitch supplied looks like the one for older
silverado trucks, not sure though.
Transmitter Programming A
remote door lock receiver may have up to 4 different transmitters
programmed. You may program a transmitter to more than 1 vehicle
providing the remote keyless entry systems are similar. When
reprogramming 1 transmitter, reprogram any and all other transmitters
(maximum of 4 total per receiver) at the same time in order for the
other transmitters to work.
Important Leave a window down
in the vehicle while reprogramming the remote control door lock
receiver system. This procedure will avoid an unintentional lock out if
the reprogramming is not performed properly.
Turn off the ignition. Utilize a Tech 2 to program the remote door lock receiver. Enter diagnostics (F0). Enter body (F1); select the year (X) and body style (N). Select "Remote Function Actuation" (F3). Select "Special Functions" (F2). Select "Program Transmitters" (F0). Select the number of transmitters to program (1-4) Follow
the on-screen instructions; press continue, wait for the locks to
cycle, hold the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously for 15-30
seconds, the locks will cycle again. Exit the vehicle. Attempt to lock/unlock the doors to verify the programming. Perform the following steps if the above procedure does not program the transmitter. Reconnect the Tech 2. Enter service programming (F1). Press the "REQUEST INFO" key. Select "Reprogram Existing Module" Exit the vehicle and remove the Tech 2. Follow the existing procedure to reflash the body control module.
