P1296- 5Volt Reference Supply Missing From Throttle Position Sensor (TPS sensor).
Possible Causes.
Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
Engine Control Module Harness is open or shorted
Engine Control Module Circuit poor electrical connection
When Detected?
Engine running and Engine Control Module detected Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor Voltage less than expected.
Solution:
Locate MAP sensor and TPS sensor, follow wire to ECM.
Find a loose ground, loose wire, open in the circuit, bad connection, between MAP sensor and ECM.
MAP Sensor and TPS Sensor are located under the hood on the intake manifold.
ECM is located under the hood in the driver corner. The Power Distribution Center.
