I just bought a 2004 F250 with a keyless pad that is a Motorcraft but not factory installed. How do I find out the code or reprogram it.

Go to your owners manual It tells you how to do it

Is it the original factory code? If you bought it used and they gave you the code, someone might have put their own code in.and if the D.D.M was replaced it comes with a new code.you can retrieve it, but it has to be done at dealership. Then you can put in your own code.

You can call or visit your local or 800 Ford Dealer on this one. It should be a free service to help locate the factory code usually located in the trunk...to test your keyless pad...enter #s...8 then 9...this should lock all doors...After you get the factory code, your owners manual should be step by step to personalize a new code...Hope this helps.

You can not reset the the keyless entry as far as i know. You can program in a new code but you must have the old code to do that. If you lost your code card go under the drivers side up inside under the radio. in the center above the hump. You may need to pull the carpet back or even some insulation. There you will find the module with a white tag on it that gives you the 5 digit code to your keyless pad. otherwise you will need to take it to the dealer for reprogramming.

in owner manual, enter permanent code and then press "1" and enter personal code, then press "1" again. Then both codes will work.

Each vehicle equipped with a keyless entry keypad is programmed with a five-digit entry code. This code is provided to the customer through a wallet card in the Owner Literature package. In addition, this code is available through a diagnostic tool and is also printed on the vehicle security module label. When entering codes each digit must be entered within five seconds of the previous button press.
Programming/Erasing Personal Code
A unique personal five-digit code can be programmed by following these steps:

1. Enter the factory set five-digit code (the keypad will illuminate when pressed).

1. Press 1/2 within five seconds of Step 1.

1. Enter the unique five-digit code.

The personal code does not substitute for the permanent factory set code. Either code can be used to access the vehicle. In addition, if a second personal code is programmed, it will simply overwrite the previous personal code. To erase a personal code, carry out the following procedure:

1. Enter factory set five-digit code.

1. Press 1/2 within five seconds of Step 1.

1. Press 7/8 and 9/0 at the same time within five seconds of Step 2.

The system will now only respond to the factory set code.
Anti-Scan Feature
To provide added security, the keyless entry pad is disabled for one minute after 35 button presses without a valid entry code being entered. The keypad will flash during this one-minute mode with all functionality disabled except for 7/8 and 9/0 still being allowed to lock the vehicle.
Anti-Scan will be turned off after any of the following events:

• one minute of keypad inactivity
• the keyless entry remote transmitter UNLOCK button is pressed
• the ignition is turned to the ON position.

Unlocking the Doors with the Keyless Entry Keypad System
To unlock the driver door, enter either the factory set code or the personal code (each digit must be pressed within five seconds of the prior digit). The interior lamps will illuminate.
To unlock all doors, enter either the factory set code or the personal code (driver door unlocks) and press the 3/4 control within five seconds.
Locking the Doors with the Keyless Entry Keypad System
It is not necessary to enter the factory set or personal code prior to locking all doors. To lock all doors, press the 7/8 and 9/0 controls at the same time.
Inspection and Verification

1. Verify the customer concern by operating the system.

1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.

1. Enter the five digit permanent entry code into keyless entry keypad.
2. Within five seconds of pressing last button of permanent code, press the 1/2 button within five seconds of pressing the last button of the permanent code. (Factory code found on the module).
3. Enter any alternate five digit code within five seconds of pressing 1/2 button.
   • Enter a sixth digit as follows to indicate operator's memory seat setting to be set by alternate code: 9/0-- no memory recall
     1/2-- memory seat position 1
     314-- memory seat position 2
     5/6-- memory seat position 3
     
   • After successful programming, the doors will signal by locking and then unlocking.
   
   

The Keyless Entry Module is located inside the drivers side door.

your factory code for keyless entry by number pad? this is found on the module for keyless entry located under dash left side, number on module in BOLD type is the original or factory code

The code is on the fuse box under the dash near the hood release. On my van there are two bar codes on a sticker attached to the fuse box. Under the first bar code, on the right side is the 5 digit code (bring your glasses the numbers are really small). After you get this code, just search the internet and there are plenty of forums on programing the keyless remote and also adding your own unique number to the key pad entry.
